Earlier, at the CES exposition in January, LG made an announcement its first venture into fitness wearable – the Lifeband Touch ,a wrist-band, and another one which is the Heart Rate Earphones. Packed with wireless facility and supported by Android & iOS smartphones ,they are in the ring with other apps of LG’s such as MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness,LG Fitness, or Runkeeper.
In the US, the availability of these two will be as soon as coming Sunday, May 18th as announced by LG whose price range is yet not put in the light. The Lifeband Touch, as the name suggests, brags a 0.9″ touch OLED-display which will show us biometric data, time, notifications, and music controls. The fixed accelerometer and altimeter calculate speed, distance, calories consumed, number of steps taken, and other statisticss. The display turns on and off automatically when user rotates wrist as a result of installed motion-sensing algorithm. As LG assures about it, the wrist-band is supposed to be “lightweight and simple-to-use,” and will be available in- M, L, and XL – three sizes to some extent differing weights and band-lengths.
The LG Heart Rate Earphones exercise a peculiar kind of service to its consumers. They showcase PerformTek sensor technology which calculates the blood-flow into the exterior part of user’s ear. Hence, user’s heart-rate and maximal oxygen consumption is derived through it. LG has utilized a “flexible ear piece design” to make the buds relaxing, and a clip-on Bluetooth “medallion” which takes care of data between the earphones, smartphone, and Lifeband Touch. LG has not come solid with the play-time with the complete 200 mAh battery of the Heart Rate Earphones. As far as Lifeband Touch is concerned,it claims up to five days between two charges for the the 90 mAh battery, which is quite impressive and can be a genuine choice to the current smart-watch series.
LG"s Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones will be released in US on this 18th
