HTC has officially introduced another addition to the HTC One family – the HTC One mini 2. After the success of HTC One M8 released a few months back and HTC One mini released last year, this is the latest offering in the HTC One range. Photos and specs of the HTC One mini 2 had already leaked earlier in the month.
HTC One mini 2 is somewhat like the HTC One M8 with similar build and performance but smaller, compact and a little less powerful. HTC One mini 2 is a small Android smartphone featuring a 4.5-inch HD Display, Sense 6 with BlinkFeed and a 5 MP front camera, auto Touch-Up software and display side countdown. The auto Touch-Up software gives a natural look to the photos.
The CEO of HTC Peter Chou says, “The latest member of the award-winning HTC One family distills the advanced features that have earned it global acclaim, into an elegant, compact handset.”
“Its size and tapered edges fit perfectly in a hand, pocket or purse, making it look great and feel even better to use. It’s the perfect choice for those who love the iconic design of the HTC One (M8) yet want something more compact,” he adds.
Certain features in common with the HTC One M8 include the BoomSound, Sense 6 with BlinkFeed and Zoe. As the name suggests, the BoomSound gives a loud sound; BlinkFeed makes the content such as news easily accessible and readable; and Zoe is a sharing app that will enable creating, sharing and remixing of high quality video collection of selfies.
The HTC One mini 2 will be offered in 3 colors: Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver, and Amber Gold. It will be available in EMEA and Asia from June 2014 onward. Its pricing has not been disclosed by HTC.
