LG G Pad 7.0 hands-on images and specs unveiled

A couple of weeks ago, LG announced three new members of its G Pad tablet family to be exhibited at MedPi 2014 in France. Now we’re getting a glimpse of one of these, the G Pad 7.0 to be exact, and rumored details for this device may sound a bit disappointing.

LG has operated some very drastic alterations in terms of design to the G Pad 7.0 and the 7  incher is quite different when compared to the G Pad 8.3. Instead of the aluminium black, the new LG G Pad 7.0 is made of plastic and thicker than LG’s 8.3-inch slate. The speakers are now located on back, at the bottom of the back cover, a location that is rather uncommon for tablets because it’s fairly easier to cover them with your hands while holding the device in portrait mode.

Even though the South Korea-based company didn’t reveal technical specifications of the LG G Pad 7.0 recent reports have indicated that the new tablet will be less powerful than the LG G Pad 8.3. If the reports prove correct then the G Pad 7.0 is likely to have a 7-inch screen with 12080 x 800 resolution, while being underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor,1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. I remind you that the G Pad 8.3 has an 8.3-inch screen with 1920 x 1020 resolution and a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor. The LG G Pad 7.0 is also expected to sport a 3.2 MP primary camera without a LED flash.

The LG G Pad 7.0 would most likely run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, of course, customized with LG’s proprietary user interface. Color variants include black, white, and blue. Given the hardware specifications of the 7-inch tablet, the G Pad 7.0 would probably become LG’s budget option for 2014.

There is no word on the G Pad 8.0 and the G Pad 10.1 till now, but we are pretty sure that the South Korean company will reveal more details in the coming days.
