In recent weeks, there have been numerous renderings, physical mockups and cases of the rumored 4.7 inch iPhone 6. In the same time, attention paid to the larger 5.5 inch model was considerably less, which is expected to be unveiled many months after the 4.7 inch version release.
New photos shared by nowhereelse.fr appear to be simple cases of both 5.5 inch and 4.7 inch iPhone models, paired with physical mockups. The photos show the 5.5 inch iPhone Air and 4.7 inch version side by side providing scale comparison and also approximate dimensions of both devices.
The larger case is identified as being for iPhone 6S and nowhereelse.fr reported that it measures 7 mm thick, 81 mm wide and 157 mm long. The iPhone 6S model is a bit larger than the 4.7 inch model. The 4.7 inch model measure 7.0 mm thick, 67 mm wide and 138 mm long. MacFan published design drawing earlier, the dimensions of both of the cases closely matches with those design drawings, which are base of the most recent mockups and renderings.
Physical features of both the cases look to be similar. Rear cutover for the camera, cutout for the usual volume buttons and mute button along the left side are similar too. Reportedly there is a new cutout along the right side of the cases and it’s probably for a relocated power button in the upcoming 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch iPhone models.
Both 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch versions of the iPhone 6 are expected to come with a thin profile similar to fifth generation iPod touch. A touch ID fingerprint sensor, faster A8 processor and improved camera with optical or electronic image stabilization could be part of the new devices. It appears that the 4.7 inch version might hit the market this fall and you may have to wait for several months to see 5.5 inch version in the market.
