Lenovo was announced as one of Microsoft’s new Windows Phone Manufacturers in February. It was expected that Lenovo will release a Windows Phone in the summer of 2014. Since Lenovo has become one of the hardware partners for Windows Phone 8.1, we know that they may release a good phone for Microsoft. Lenovo has a reputation to keep and Microsoft really needs to grab more market share.
It has not been confirmed that the new phone will be released in this summer but the German website Mobile Geeks has reported that Liu Jun (President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group) confirmed the fact that Lenovo is aiming to release its Windows Phone this year.
There isn’t a lot of detail about this product yet. Things like its specifications are unknown. We also don’t know if this phone is intended for customers who want to buy a cheap phone or for customers who want to buy an expensive high-end phone. The design of the phone is also unknown at the moment. Although, it is expected to look much like other Lenovo smartphones.
The President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group Liu Jun also told Mobile Geeks that Lenovo is planning to release its wearable tech this year. Lenovo is about to acquire Motorola Mobility so Motorola’s Moto 360 will come under Lenovo’s umbrella. When Lenovo owns Motorola Mobility it also owns the Moto 360 and all future products that may be under development by Motorola Mobility. Liu Jun was talking about Lenovo’s own wearable electronics as well. These devices may be released in 2014 or early 2015. We don’t know much about them at the moment but we intend to keep updating our readers on this as more information is released.
