HTC One M9 rumored to launch at MWC 2015; Specs include 5.2” 2K Display and Snapdragon 805

HTC had unveiled its flagship smartphone HTC One M8 early this year and now it seems that the Taiwanese company is getting ready to launch its successor, the HTC One M9 soon with some awesome specs. A report published a couple of days ago claims that HTC is preparing to introduce its next flagship at the MWC this spring.

HTC is in the habit of unveiling a new flagship device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona every year in March. It is rumored that the upcoming HTC One M9 will be showcased at the event. However, HTC designer Hasan Kaymak has posted a rending of HTC One M9 concept phone on his Google + account with the remark, “Here’s, what we’ll see next month”. A rumor also suggests that the new HTC phone will be as thin as Apple’s recently launched iPhone 6. The handset will have a premium metallic frame and 7.1mm thickness.

According to rumors, HTC One M9 would sport a 5.2” 2K 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution screen with a pixel density of 564ppi which is quite high compared to 441 ppi pixel density of HTC One M8. This means the M9 screen will be clearer and sharper. The device will supposedly be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and will feature a 3GB RAM inside.

There would be two variants offering 64GB and 128GB of internal storage and the handset would come with pre-installed Android 5.0 Lollipop. The HTC One M9 would feature a more powerful battery as well as better rear and front-facing cameras. It is also touted to be water resistant. However, there is no word about its pricing.

According to earlier rumors, HTC One M8 Max with a 5.5” QHD display was supposed to be launched this year during the holiday season but that might not be the case now. We will just have to wait and see what HTC has in store for us.

Well, just yesterday we spotted the Xiaomi Mi4 which is to be launched tomorrow on July 22^ndshowing up its front panel, today the device has been leaked almost completely with few more images, press renders and even specs. The Xiaomi Mi4 is tipped to be running the latest available Android 4.4 KitKat topped with the company’s own MIUI v6 OS and would bake a Snapdragon 805 powerful chipset at its heart. This chipset will comprise of four Krait cores clocked at 2.5GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU support and 3GB of RAM to deliver unparalleled performance. Design wise the device will host a 5.5” screen with 1080p resolution and would have a 13MP primary camera and a whopping 2MP secondary camera at the front. The device will come with 16GB of internal storage and it is unclear at the moment whether there would be any additional support for the microSD card or not. The device will come with some fantastic connectivity options like the latest 4G KTE with 42Mbps HSPA, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual band Wi-Fi. The device will also sport a FM radio receiver on-board. The handset is assumed to come with a powerful 3050mAh of battery juice. Earlier there was quite a noise about the device coming with a metal body, but the company VP Li Wanqiang has denied the existence of any such feature on his Weibo account. The device is assumed to come with a impressive price tag of $485.

Snapdragon 805 based LG G3 gets approval from Korean Authorities

There is no doubt to it that LG G3 is one of the most premium smartphones available in the market as on date! But it seems that LG Electronics’ thirst to make it even more upgraded and advanced has not ended yet. We had earlier spotted that LG G3 will a more powerful Snapdragon 805 chipset is to arrive into the market and could be released in July. Now this would turn out to be quite true as an alleged Snapdragon 805 based LG G3 has been recently approved by the South Korean authorities.

The advanced and upgraded LG G3 has been found out with three model numbers LG F460S, LG F460K, and LG F460L where each of them corresponds to three mobile carriers of South Korea namely the SK, KY and LG U+. However, at the moment much info regarding its other specs is not available except for the new baked Snapdragon 805 SoC which is to support LTE-Advanced Cat 6 allowing download speeds up to 225Mbps.

Samsung has already announced its Snapdragon 805 based Galaxy s5 version with LTE-A Cat 6 support and LG too seems to follow the same curve. However, the company has not clear about the international roll-out of this version and has kept it to the Korean markets only at the moment.

“Glowing Gold” version of the rumored Samsung Galaxy F spotted on @evleaks

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime aka the Samsung Galaxy f has been quite in new these days and the device has once again made an appearance on @evleaks showing a new render of it.

The handset has been spotted in a new image that shows the Galaxy F to be in a “glowing gold” version. However, if observed carefully, we can see a September 12 date on its homescreen that might be the possible date of release for the device. However, nothing is said by the company regarding its launch and this is just the prediction from our end.

The Samsung Galaxy F is considered to have a strong metal body unlike the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A launched recently. However, other features of the Galaxy F will be line with the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A that includes a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, Quad HD Display measuring 5.3inches.

However, Samsung has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is specifically launched for the Korean markets and so its can be strongly considered that the Galaxy F will surely be launched in the international markets.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Exynos 5433 scores higher than Snapdragon 805 in AnTuTu benchmark

Two different variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have been spotted at the AnTuTu benchmarks. The two variants are powered by different processors, one with Samsung’s own Octa-core 64-bit Exynos 5433 processor and the other with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

AnTuTu has posted benchmark scores for both the variants. As such, the Snapdragon chipset has always been faster than the Samsung processor. However, this time it is the other way round. Although the new Snapdragon 805 is faster than the current Snapdragon 801 version, benchmark scores reveal that Samsung’s own Exynos 5433 is even faster.

Have a look at the AnTuTu benchmark scores for the two variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 4:

 

In the chart above, we can see that Samsung Exynos 5433 breaks through the 40K mark and scores 40303 which is much higher than the 37780 scored by Snapdragon 805. NVDIA Tegra K1 is of course the fastest, but that can be attributed to the fact that it was tested on device with 1920×1080 resolution display while the Exynos 5433 was tested on a mobile with a display of 2560×1440 resolution.

If we look at the breakdown chart, the scores for both Exynos 5433 (N910C) and Snapdragon 805 (N910S) chipsets indicate that the Exynos 5433 is superior in almost all aspects.

AnTuTu benchmark lists that both the variants of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would have a 2560 x 1440 QHD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a 16MP rear camera. A leak last week had revealed that the Snapdragon 805 version will be available for sale in North America, South Korea, China, and Japan, while the other Exynos 5433 version will be available in Europe.

Snapdragon 805 based version for LG G3 reported to be in works

The LG G3 has been launched last month and the handset boasts some pretty high end specs with some unique features and functionality. Recently rumors of the model that come with a Snapdragon 805 SoC have appeared on the web. The LG G3 is likely to hit most retailers this July and this new Snapdragon 805 SoC is also likely to come the same month.

It is said that the Snapdragon 805 SoC would be much better performing processor than the current Snapdragon 801 SoC looking to its high end resolution that the device offers. It is said that the QHD Display requires more processing power that the Snapdragon 805 could meet and a download speed of 225Mbps could be achieved with the integrated Qualcomm MDM9635 modem. Samsung has recently launched its Galaxy S5 LTE-A which comes with Snapdragon 805 SoC.

There are even rumors for the LG G3 “Prime” a recent trademark from the Korean giant.

The next-generation Snapdragon 805 processor created a lot of buzz in the market when chipmaker Qualcomm first announced it last September — and it’s still making noise. The processor is entering into production and should appear in the next wave of mobile  devices, such as the Galaxy S5 Prime and the HTC One M8 Prime. The hasty speed could make this a smartphone most desired one.

HTC’s upcoming flagship, the One M8 Prime is powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset,featuring two cameras on the back. One is the Ultrapixel camera sensor that captures the photo, and the second one is a camera sensor that is used to calculate depth.This could mean that HTC will stick with the Duo Camera concept even for its future flagships and could also encourage other manufacturers to incorporate it  with their devices.

Qualcomm is developing the Snapdragon 805 which is the company’s last 32-bit chip before it swings to 64-bit technology. This is a high end SoC that’s even better than the Snapdragon 800/801 and is expected to arrive on mobile devices this year end. Technically this SoC is having much potential however what about in real world circumstances?

Recently Qualcomm reference tablet with a Snapdragon 805 SoC undergone a test which concluded that it performs better than any ARM CPU/GPU combo chip released before it. The comparison devices used are as follows:

The outcome showing the superior performance of the Snapdragon 805 compared to the high end chipsets out in the market today. The Adreno 420 GPU providing a rich and visually immersive graphics environment is the key factor. Pantech Vega Iron 2 is official,doesnot have Qualcomm Snapdragon 805

Vega Iron 2 is the new Android Smartphone from Pantech that has been announced officially in its home market, South Korea. The high end LTE-A device will be available in the same country later this month. The image of this device shows a physical home button which has been almost vanished on the Smartphones these days.

The Vega Iron 2 has a 5.3 inch 1080p AMLOED touchscreen display and runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System out of the box. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Soc, clocking at 2.3 GHz, this might be little disappointing as the previous rumors suggested that the device will be coming with Snapdragon 805. The device also features a       3 GB RAM and has a 3,220 mAh battery on the back to power it.

The handset also has a 13 MP rear facing camera with optical image stabilization that is capable of taking 4K videos and a 2.1 MP front facing camera for selfies. The on-board memory of the device is at 32 GB and has the connectivity of 3G along with Blueooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. The dimension of the device is at 144.2 x 73.5 x 7.9 mm,while its weight tips the scale at 152 grams.

The Pantech Vega Iron2 will be available in Black and White colour variant- both being manufactured using a metal frame. There’s no word on how much the smartphone will cost, and neither on an eventual international availability.We cannot expect this device to come out of South Korea as its predecessors also were limited to their home country.
