Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to feature an improved Fingerprint Scanner

Over the last few months, many details of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have emerged one by one. Recently we got the information about its ultrasonic cover and camera, and now details about the fingerprint sensor of Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 4 have been leaked.

The Galaxy Note 4 will feature Synaptics Natural ID technology that is used in Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha. This technology has LiveFlex™ which splits the fingerprint sensor into two, with one part integrated with the main touch screen and the other with the home button. Both parts work in tandem to load the ID.

Like the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Note 4 fingerprint sensor will allow locking-unlocking of screen, authentication for private mode and verification of Samsung and PayPal Accounts. Apart from these, the phablet will come with certain additional features.

Samsung fingerprint scanner

Fingerprint Shortcut feature

The Galaxy Note 4 will have a ‘Fingerprint Shortcut’ feature through which specific apps and functions can be assigned by a user to the fingerprint of a particular finger. When the user swipes with the finger to unlock the device, apps assigned to that finger will launch.

Web Sign-In feature

The ‘Web Sign-In’ feature allows the user to use registered fingerprint for logging in to a website. The user will have to log in manually for the first time and enable the ‘Sign in using fingerprints’ feature. The Galaxy Note 4 will remember the logging information and next time the user can can log in with just a swipe of the finger.

Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha may get these additional new features via updates in due course once the Galaxy Note 4 goes official. Samsung’s new flagship phablet is set to debut at the company’s Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 on September 3. Meanwhile, Samsung has already launched a couple of teaser videos highlighting the S Pen features.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab S commercials show how it is superior to Apple’s iPad

We recently saw Samsung release a Galaxy S 5 commercial, calling iPhone users as ‘Wall huggers’. Now Samsung is back with two new commercials for its Galaxy Tab S that compare it with the Apple iPad, though not directly.

The new video commercials of the South Korean company highlight the strengths of Galaxy Tab S in comparison to another tablet. These include high contrast ratio offered by its Super AMOLED display and its multitasking ability.

According to the first commercial, Super AMOLED display of Galaxy Tab S offers 100 times higher contrast compared to many LCD Tabs. Instead of the usual 1,000:1 contrast, the Galaxy Tab S gives 100,000:1 and the Super AMOLED shows all the fine details of the image which many LCD screens cannot do, giving high accuracy and quality even in dark images. You can see the commercial below:

In the second commercial Samsung highlights the multitasking ability of its Galaxy Tab S. Here, the dad wants to watch sports while the baby wants to watch a cartoon film but the tablet they have cannot open both the apps at once. The tablet is then swapped with a Galaxy Tab S which allows displaying of both the apps at once on the screen and both baby and dad are happy.

The other tablet shown in the commercial has not been named but it looks like Apple’s iPad Air that has an LCD display and no facility for multitasking. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in June this year. They are the first tablets with Super AMOLED displays.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be unveiled at the IFA 2014 trade show in the beginning of September somewhere around that time when Samsung tablets have usually been announced.

There have been several other speculations and rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 doing the rounds. The handset is supposed to feature a 5.7-inch like its predecessor. It is rumored to have a QHD 1440 x 2560p resolution screen with super AMOLED display. Rumor says the device will have a main camera of 12MP OIS enabled or 16MP without OIS and a 3.7 MP front-facing snapper. This will give the device a thinner frame. Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition leaks once again

Earlier today, we spotted the Google Play Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S5 hosting the stock Android OS. However, on being observed carefully at the leaked image we can make out the existence of on-screen navigation keys which seemed to be a bit skeptical as far as Samsung devices are concerned. Samsung Galaxy devices are usually found to sport buttons at the bottom bezels. Now, a new leak from the same source Evleaks has appeared without any on-screen navigation buttons.

Much similar to last year’s Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, the Galaxy S5 GPE will too not have any on-screen navigation keys. However, there is no news as to when would Google declare this device officially, but based on the intensity of leaks that are coming out these days we think the announcement is not too far!

The Galaxy S5 GPE has earlier made an attendance on the Google Play Store but was taken down from the site soon. However, the GPE Galaxy S5 is taking a bit long but it is believed that bringing the built-in heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner on stock Android might be holding Google back. We hope to get some official word soon.

Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition leaks out

The Google Play Edition of the recently launched Samsung flagship Galaxy S5 has been quite under talks and the device is yet to materialize. However, the device has made its appearance on Evleaks with an image that shows the GPE of the Galaxy S5. The handset has already undergone Bluetooth certification making an appearance on the Google Play Store a few months back. This means that the handset still exists but we are yet to know the official release date for the device.

Well, with the announcement of the Galaxy S5 mini version that comes with fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor just like its parent flagship, it would be interesting to see whether the GPE of Galaxy S5 hosts similar features or not. The GPE Galaxy S5 is believed to run stock version of Android without the skinning of Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. So it can be assumed that Samsung could bring these features to the device via a dedicated app on the Play Store. We will bring you with more details as things get official.

More images of the Galaxy F appears in glowing gold

The Samsung Galaxy F is making several appearances through leaks before it would be officially unveiled. Previously, the device made an appearance on @evleaks in “Glowing Gold”  and now few more similar images of the device have came out from the same source.

This images convey that the Galaxy F is not identical to the Galaxy S5 that many had earlier speculated as the bezels are obviously smaller making this device more compact. Many previous leaks have already conveyed it earlier for the device to be offering a metal back plate, and a similar rear set up like that of the Galaxy S5 with a protruding camera and a heart rate monitor.

So far the rumors have claimed that the Galaxy F will be slightly larger than the Galaxy S5 with a 5.3inch display. Some have also claimed that the device will have a Quad HD resolution while others think it to be having full HD 1080p resolution only.

Well, one of the leaksters have claimed the device to be having a Snapdragon 805 SoC with a 16MP camera shooter at its back along with a Samsung made sensor. With so much info spreading out, we think Samsung will soon officially voice the Galaxy F.

Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 almost geared up for Android 4.4.3 update

Samsung is apparently getting closer and closer in upgrading their premium smartphones with Android 4.4.3.The first devices to get an Android 4.4.3 build from the Korean giants are the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 3. According to a purportedly leaked internal document, the Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates for both Snapdragon and Exynos versions of the Galaxy S5 have been finalized.

The leaked document claimed that both models of the Galaxy S5 which they are SM-G900F , SM-G900F had passed the final level of testing the new update, and the Galaxy Note 3 the latest flagship phablet from Samsung in the final testing level for the Android 4.4.3. It seems that Galaxy S5 will be reportedly rolled out this month while the Galaxy Note 3 update might take until July to come out.

Galaxy-S5-Galaxy-Note-3-4.4.3-update

One thing to note that image above appears to be doctored as there seems to be plenty of font related irregularities.Keeping that in mind, take this with a pinch of salt.

Further complicating things is the fact that Google has just rolled out Android 4.4.4 to its Nexus devices, a version that seems to contain a pretty important security fix.

That leads us a doubt of whether Samsung will first release Android 4.4.3 for its devices or directly start working on the latest version of the OS? Or will it choose to skip Android 4.4.3 altogether and simply come out with a 4.4.4 build, neglecting the delay in release for a short while?

This can be wherever the Simband comes in. Samsung is looking it in “investigatory device” that works in bike with Sami, that encompasses an assortment of various sensors on its bottom. The Simband can track your pulse rate and chemical element intake, however, the Simband will had further sensors additional to that which will not solely monitor the various functions of your body, however of your atmosphere similarly.

The design appearance a little like most up-to-date Gear watches. There square measure differences: the battery’s hot-swappable for simple night charging whereas sporting to alter 24/7 chase. Inside, associate ARM-based processor handles process of the varied sensors. The Simband has each Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, thus it will share knowledge to native devices or on to Samsung’s cloud. Ram Fish of Samsung, who was sending the keynote on the new technology, was sporting the device throughout his keynote that displayed his heart-rate, in time period.

The technology is interesting, however Samsung hasn’t proclaimed a concrete unharness date for the Simband or the other Sami platform product. There still must be some work done on sensors and Samsung must fathom supply with their healthcare APIs, before the corporate will decide to a unharness date.

Samsung additionally outed their “digital health challenge”; they’re giving up fifty million bucks to those that are functioning on any healthcare trailing comes, together with any analysis and work on new detector development.

Samsung’s unharness of this info was definitely well-timed, as Apple’s developer discussion is developing, wherever rumor has it the Cupertino-based technical company can unharness details on its Healthbook platform in conjunction with its own health-tracking wearable.

Samsung pledges us that this health knowledge is personal and completely within user’s control and management, though, if there’s something we’ve got learned regarding mobile knowledge over the last number of years, it’s that if somebody desires to induce one thing off of your smartphone, there isn’t abundant you’ll be able to do to stop it. User protection goes to be a giant issue that hopefully each Samsung and Apple can take extremely, as personal health knowledge may be a serious matter.

Who’s excited regarding this? Or does one assume that an entire body monitor system on your smartphone and wrist may be a very little excessive and doubtless dangerous ?

Samsung Galaxy Tab S to have fingerprint sensor & Ultra Power Saving Mode

The firmware of the unreleased Samsung GALAXY Tab S which leaked out a few days ago confirms the existence of the fingerprint sensor and an Ultra Power Saving mode as well. The upcoming tablets which are yet to be announced are rumoured to come in 10.5 inch and 8.4 inch configurations; sporting pixel dense WQXGA (2560×1600 pixel)screens but sadly show no added software customisations for the bigger displays.

The source that peeked into the software revealed that the device does indeed have the fingerprint sensor that is similar to the one found on the GALAXY S5. Moreover it includes the same functionality and features of the GALAXY S5 flagship smartphone as well. Also included in those files was the Ultra Power Saving mode which is again similar to the GALAXY S5. The tablet similar to the smartphone will run the TouchWiz skinned OS in a grey scale mode which supposedly reduces power consumption, delivering better battery life. We have no clue why would someone purchase a WQXGA (2560×1600 pixel) AMOLED display and run it in a black and white mode, but we are sure that Samsung must have put a lot of “research” into it.

We’ll be hearing all about the Super AMOLED tablet duo on June 12, since Samsung is officially introducing them to the world. Both variants are sporting a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chipset with 1.9 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs.They’re bundled with an 533MHz ARM Mali-T628 and 3GB of RAM, while internal memory is 32GB. notification_use_the_notification_panel_03help_power_saving_modeTab s

However what if the recently launched Moto E was to be nearly on par or maybe quicker than the Samsung flagship in some areas? That’s specifically what a replacement video comparison demonstrates because the Moto E and therefore the Galaxy S5 are faveolate against one another to perform a number of the foremost basic tasks.

This contains unlocking the phone, opening the gallery, camera app etc. Astonishingly, the Moto E outstrips the Galaxy S5 in opening the Gallery additionally because the Camera apps with important delays seen on the Samsung flagship. Sure, it’s not a giant delay; however this goes to point out the ability and capabilities of a stock Android device, even supposing it doesn’t brag of a high finish specs sheet.

Maybe Samsung features a lesson to find out from it and might tone down the suite of TouchWiz options a notch within the future. This is often a bit demoralizing considering that the hardware on board isn’t being used by the exploited by the software.

Beating informed the Galaxy S5 hits home for the Mot E also. A low-end device meant to interchange feature phones will quite a little bit of everyday tasks additional expeditiously than a flagship from the biggest android OEM. Benchmark tests square measure fun, however actual use cases square measure additional indicative of what your expertise are going to be.

Check out the video below, that comes courtesy of Tom Rich. Although the Moto E might not have all the bells and whistles of the Galaxy S5, it will show simply however nice it performs in regular situations. We’re not maxim it’s higher than the Galaxy S5, or that stock android is best than TouchWiz, however actual use in real-world situations suggests it’s no slouch — even though it’s that method on paper.

So what does one think about the video?
