The mini variant of Samsung’s premium flagship Galaxy S5 was quite in news for some time and had made several appearances earlier through leaks. Well, earlier today, the device has finally been announced officially and just like it parent version, this too comes with heart rate monitor and fingerprint scanner. The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini hosts a 4.5inch Super AMOLED Display with 720p resolution. The device is powered with quad-core processor (probably Exynos 3470 both for LTE and non-LTE variants) clocked at 1.4GHz and rund the Android 4.4 KitKat. At its back, the device sports an 8 megapixel primary camera with LED Flash while the front hosts a 2.1MP secondary camera.
The memory options of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini include a 1.5GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and expandable 64GB of memory via microSD card. The device comes with some basic connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, A-GPS+GLONASS and IR Remote connectivity. The device comes with IP67 certification which confirms it to be dust and water proof. Other additional features includes Ultra Power Saving Mode, Power Kids/ Kids Mode and S Health. As seen above, the fingerprint and heart rate sensors have been included here as well and the battery juice of the device has been brought to 2100mAh. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available in four color options of Shimmery White, Charcoal Black, Copper Gold and Electric Blue. The dual-SIM variant for the device is also expected to arrive ahead. The pricing for the Galaxy S5 mini is expected to be somewhere near $650 and will roll-out in the international markets from mid-July.
