Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to have a new Velvet Red color

It’s just a few months back when the Korean giant Samsung announced its biggest flagship of the year the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. However, at the time of launch, the company had released the handset in four different colors of “Bronze Gold”, “Frost White”, “Blossom Pink” and “Charcoal Black”. Amongst these four, the black has been the largest selling and the most loved color from its users and now it seems that the company plans to put one more color in addition.

As most of you would have guesses it correctly, this is fiery “Velvet Red” version of the Galaxy Note 4 and the company the company has decided to bring it right in time of the Winter holidays even as the Christmas season is approaching closer. The bad thing is that the color would be available to all the Note 4 handsets in South Korea only for the Note 4 to be sold for SK Telecom, the largest carrier in the country. Well, it is also said that the carrier also offers exclusive red versions for the Galaxy S5 LTE A and the Galaxy W.

Well, we wonder that whether Samsung might release this red colored version globally to the Galaxy Note 4 worldwide of not. Don’t forget to check out the review for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and all its specs.

Previews of Android Lollipop running on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 leak ahead of official release

Android Lollipop updates have already started rolling out for various Android smartphones. Android phone users are eagerly awaiting Lollipop updates on their devices. Although Samsung has not announced when the Galaxy Note 3 will get its Lollipop updates, Sammobile has released some screenshots and a video showing how the Android Lollipop looks like on the handset.

Sammobile has got hold of an “internal build” of Android Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 3. The screenshots and video give us a preview of how the Lollipop will integrate with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and appear on the Note 3.

There are some new animations in the user interface which are quite smooth.  In the UI, Samsung has changed Google’s default green color in stock Android Lollipop to its own signature blue color at some places, for example in the settings menu. Also, there are changes in the font and icon colors in the settings.

Overall, it looks better but at some places it needs a bit of tuning up. However, Samsung is sure to remove all the kinks before launching the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates officially, which may probably be early next year. Recently we saw previews of Android Lollipop updates for Galaxy S5 and S4 too. We will keep you dated regarding the release of the official version.

Here’s the video showing the Galaxy Note 3 running Android Lollipop / TouchWiz:

Samsung Note 4 becomes the longest lasting QHD Phone

When Samsung announced that there is no larger battery for Galaxy Note 4, we are worried. It is because it comes with Quad HD display which is confirmed to require more out of the battery. Some example of smart phones which is having this issue is LG G3 and Oppo Find 7.

Note 4 is actually comes with 3220mAh Battery life, not so much different from the 3200mAh battery life which is found in Note 3. However, this small difference made a big impact to the battery life in Note 4. The device is able to clock about 8 hours and 43 minutes in the custom battery life test. Note 3 on the other hand only able to clock about 6 hours and 8 minutes a year ago.

The test is just mainly running script with variables that replicates real-life, non-stop usage and the screen set to 200 nits. Therefore, in normal activities such as calls, texts, browsing and games, Note 4 is able to lasts for 9 hours without charging. As a result, Note 4 is able to lasts for a day and a half and even more provided if the “Ultra Power Saving Mode” is turned on.

Good news is that Note 4 is quick to charge. It only takes just 95 minutes for it to be full-charge. With this kind of capabilities we are happy to see that Samsung has delivered another yet high quality product.

Samsung Gear VR: Release Date and Price

Gamers now will have another reason to be happy. Samsung has officially introduced Samsung Gear VR at IFA 2014.  Gear VR is a virtual headset which allows you to have an immerse virtual reality of a VR-compatible game. It will give you the similar feeling of a Oculus Rift 3D gaming. However, unlike Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR requires Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to be placed inside the headset. On top of that the device uses AMOLED display ability to shit pixels on and off almost instantaneously. It is quite technical therefore we do not have the further details but it is more importantly, it brings virtual reality closer to any Note 4 owner.

The general impression of the product is that it is a little bit bigger, heavier and it is not as comfortable as we imagine it to be. Not to mention it is only works with Galaxy Note 4 as of now.

We do not have any further detail on the release date and also the pricing. However, there is an allegedly internal document belonging to Samsung, most probably the department of customer service, circulating on the web.  It is most probably the Q&A training sheet for customer service employees to answer some of most common questions which will be asked by the customers.  Questions like, when will the VR be launched or how much it will cost.

From the internal document, we found out that Samsung Gear VR will be released in South Korea on December 1, 2014. It will be pricing at about 200,000 Won or $187. However, this information cannot be verified.

Samsung"s Gear VR available for 150 GBP

Along with the Galaxy Note 4Galaxy Note Edge, and Gear S, Samsung also launched the Gear VR during its event at IFA Berlin. The company used the event to reveal not just its new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, but also the Gear VR head-mounted display (HMD) that will use it’s 5.7-inch Quad HD display for virtual reality (VR) experiences.

At the moment, the virtual reality headset developed in partnership with Oculus is already up for pre-order in the UK. Mobile Fun is currently accepting pre-orders for Gear VR starting at £150 GBP(or €189).

The online retailer identifies itself as a ‘Samsung Authorized Dealer’, lending some weight to this price tag. On the other hand, Mobile Fun is known for putting up pre-order pages for newly announced mobile devices very early, sometimes too early.

Unfortunately the site doesn’t mention a shipping date, indicating we’re still left with the vague mid-October 2014 window. Given that the retailer is a phone accessory specialist, it doesn’t list the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or its pricing, leaving that part of the cost in question.

The Samsung Gear VR uses the 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display of the Galaxy Note 4, which slides inside the headset itself. It uses accelorator, magnetic, gyrometer and proximity sensors in creating the 360 degree experience. Samsung says there’s a super accuracy sensor that means virtually no lag while using the wireless Gear VR.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price and release date revealed

Samsung has taken a wrap off towards its new Galaxy Note 4 during IFA event yesterday although it didn’t provided a clear release date. The company stated that the latest Note 4 will automatically arrive on major stores sometime in October. Big up to the Dutch journal Galaxy Club, this will help us see a specific date for the release: which is October 10th. This is the date whereby the latest Galaxy Note 4 will be launched especially in Netherlands as well as most parts of Europe.

Galaxy note 4How about its release date in the United States? Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be available to at least four of the major carriers, it is well clear that the release date may differ from the one for European release date.

The Galaxy Note 4 cost €799 which is equivalent in to $7799 in the United States. This is a bit expensive to many, for flagships costs $650, but seeing in the past we found out that this is the exact money Note 3 was pricing last year. What does all this mean especially on contract prices? We would guess and say that the same $299 will still be excellent for a two year agreement. As you all know, Samsung has been aggressive for years now with its pricing plans as well as quick reduction of the actual prices.

With all the above information, let’s now review the Galaxy Note 4 specs: it has a 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560-pixel (Quad HD) display, it also run on Android 4.4 KitKat and got the first devices to have the Snapdragon 805 system Chip which usually runs up to 2.7 GHz. This latest device has a main camera of 16-megapixel. A great change has also arrived with the new Galaxy Note 4 for it no longer uses plastic but a full metal frame which gives it much best quality feel.

Well, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is undoubtedly the next premium flagship from the Korean tech Samsung. Much rumors for the Galaxy Note 4 have been circulating these days and the device is assumed to be unveiled at the IFA event in Berlin this September. Samsung has already introduced its S Health app which collects and analyzes fitness data giving fitness enthusiasts and able interface to maintain their lifestyle. This new sensor will measure the UV radiation that we get exposed to and will inform in case the radiation is potential enough to damage our skin. To be honest, we can’t remember the last time we went to the beach and thought to ourselves “Man, it’s hot out here. Wish we had UV sensors in hand to check if it’s safe to get some tan”. What’s your take on this?

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumored to be coming with a 16MP OIS camera, flexible display and premium metal body

This September, at the IFA event in Berlin we could possibly see the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 breaking the covers officially. The Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to come with many novel features for the first time even though there is no leaked image of the device appearing on the web till date. Based on the recent reports coming from Korean publication ET News, the Galaxy Note 4 is considered to come with a premium metal body design along with a 16MP primary with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a flexible display (Probably the YOUM display unveiled earlier this year).

However, the same report says that the Galaxy Note 4 will also be launched in a plastic version apart from the metal-body. This means that users will have two options to choose in between.

The most exciting news about the Note 4, however, has got to be about the flexible screen. Last year’s Note 3 came with a 5.7-inch screen, which is already fairly huge, and this report says nothing about the likely size of the Note 4, but it does mention that Samsung has ramped up production of flexible panels by 50%, anticipating the launch.

One more thing that has been revealed in this report is the Galaxy Note 4 is likely to sport a 16MP primary with features like OIS. The report shows that that the Korean giant will use its own sensor used in its recently launched Galaxy S5 where OIS is considered to be a new addition. Here is a video of the ‘YOUM’ display released earlier this year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 likely to host retina scanner

Before the launch of Samsung’s premium flagship Galaxy S5 this year, there were rumors about the device would come with a retina sensor. However, upon launch the device sported a fingerprint scanner for biometric security. Now the company on its SamsungExynos Twitter account has released a teaser that shows a phablet device focusing on an eye and if the above image is observed very carefully, at the right hand side, you will see a list of bills with a pay button. This could possibly mean a PayPal integration with retina scanner just as we have it with a fingerprint scanner in the Galaxy S5.

Moreover, the tagline of the image is “Unlock the Future” which shows that the retina scanner could also be used for unlocking the device. Moreover, the Korean tech giant has also pioneered another of its eye-tracking-feature that prevents the screen from getting dim or locked when a user is still looking at the screen. Additionally the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to host a 3.68MP primary camera according to AnTuTu, but it has to be seen that whether the company uses the same camera for secure retina scans or introduces a completely separate sensor for the job. Well, we would keep some patience till the IFA event to be held in Berlin this September when we expect the device to break covers.
