With less than a week left for Motorola’s media event where it is expected to introduce some new handsets including the third generation Moto G, a retailer from Switzerland has released some official press images of the upcoming device. Along with the images of the black and white Moto G (2015) handsets, its specifications have also been leaked.
The soon-to-be-released mid-ranger Moto G (2015) has appeared in the product listing of Swiss retailer Digitec on its website as Moto G (3rd Gen) 8GB White and Moto G (3rd Gen) 8GB Black.
According to the listing on the Digitec site, the Moto G (2015) will feature a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 441ppi. Under the hood will be an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.7GHz and Adreno 405 GPU. The listing doesn’t mention the Soc but it will possibly be the Snapdragon 610.
The handset will have a 2GB RAM but only 8GB of internal memory inside it but fortunately, it will have a microSD slot for expanding the memory up to 128GB. It will also feature Cat.4 LTE and run Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device will be powered by a 2,070 battery, same as its predecessor but this figure could merely be a placeholder because the dimensions of 141.5 x 70.7 x 11 mm and weight of 149grams listed are also exactly the same as that of the 2nd gen Moto G.
The price of the Moto G (2015) mentioned by Digitec is 235 CHF which is equivalent to $245 or €225. The price may be this high due to the addition of Swiss taxes. We will know for sure on July 28th when the handset is unveiled. So stay tuned!
