Apart from the higher-end flagship smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, apparently Samsung is releasing an entry-level smartphone in Galaxy J series which goes by the name Galaxy J2. Previously, Samsung released Galaxy J1 and Galaxy J1 4G earlier this year and the company is reported to be working on Galaxy J1 Ace and Galaxy J1 pop.
According to a few sources, Galaxy J2 (SM-J200F) will have a 4.5-inch TFT LCD display with resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and will be running on Samsung’s own Exynos 3475 SoC with quad-core 32-bit CPU which is clocked at 1.2GHz. On top of that, the device will have a 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB as there is a microSD slot found at the back of the device.
As for the physical appearance, Galaxy J2 will be measuring 136 x 69 x 8.3mm which includes a battery size of 2000 mAh. At the back of the device, there will be a 5MP camera and a 2MP front camera. Galaxy J2 will be pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It is not confirmed whether Galaxy J2 will support dual-SIM or single-SIM capability.
There is no confirmation on the official launch date for Galaxy J2, however, it is rumored that India will be the first country that the device will be released to the consumers, followed by other emerging countries.
