The news
The Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft Terry Myerson revealed something very interesting at the Worldwide Partner Conference. He confirmed that Microsoft will soon be releasing premium Lumia models. This news conforms with the announcement made last week that Microsoft is going to write off a huge amount of $7.6 billion related with services and purchase of Nokia devices. The company has made it clear that it is going to focus on phones for the enterprise, value-priced models and high end phones for specs-centric smartphone fans.
Microsoft’s new handsets
It is said that Microsoft is currently working on two high-end models which are Nokia Lumia 940 and Nokia Lumia 940 XL. A few days ago, it was speculated that two handsets will be made with polycarbonate, and they are going to have higher prices as compared to other premium models. There is a rumor about them that both phones will have specs that are close to the current top-shelf handest. It is expected that Lumia 940 will have a 5.2-inch screen, 3GB of RAM, 20MP PureView rear camera and a Snapdragon 808 chipset. About Lumia 940 XL, it is expected to have a 5.7-inch display and Snapdragon 810 chipset; the RAM and rear camera are expected to be the same as in Lumia 940.
Myerson’s statement
The statement of Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft Terry Myerson was: “Last week we announced a focusing on our Lumia lineup, but let me be clear: soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10.”
Launching
It is not known for sure what Mircosoft is planning to release, but there is a high chance that it is going to happen at September’s IFA show in Berlin. Mirosoft must have put a lot of time and effort to develop Windows 10 Mobile. It can be said that Microsoft will give the new devices some time to compete with Android and iOS.
