It seems that the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy A8 smartphone isn’t far away now. A hands-on video had surfaced a few days back and before that we saw the device via some leaked images too. Now the handset has been spotted in a catalog in South Korea with its specifications listed in it. These are in line with the earlier leaked specs of the handset.
According to the catalog, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A8 boasts of a 5.7 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, octa-core (quad-core 1.8GHz + Quad-core 1.3GHz) CPU said to be Exynos 5430, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB and a 3,050mAh battery. There will be a 16MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, LED flash and real-time HDR as well as a 5MP front camera.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 will bean all-metal slender 5.9mm thin handset having the dimensions of 158 x 76.8 x 5.9mm and it will weigh 151 grams. The device will run Android 5.1 lollipop and will support LTE Cat. 6 with VoLTE and terrestrial DMB.
The Galaxy A8 will be released exclusively by SK Telecom in Korea and is listed as model number SM-A800S in the catalog. The device will be available in three color variants – Black, White and Gold. The catalog does not mention its date of launch or price tag. There is also no word from Samsung about its launch date or pricing.
