Jolla has been planning to launch its own tablet with compact design, useful features, and decent hardware all with affordable price. The tablet is called Jolla Tablet and runs on Sailfish 2.0 operating system; the same OS is used in the company’s Smartphones launched a year ago.
The company had taken help of Indiegogo to launch its crowdfunding campaign to release its tablet. The company has put a goal of $380,000. It is expected that Jolla would be successful in reaching its goal by seeing that it reached its half goal with few hours after launching the campaign. 1000 units of the tablet are offered in two set, priced at a reasonable amount of $189 and $199 respectively.
The Tablet is made compact with 7.5 millimeters thickness and weighs 384 grams. Its specifications include a 7.85-inch IPS LCD display, 64-bit quad core Intel Atom processor with 1.8 GHz processor, 2GB RAM and storage capacity of 32GB with microSD card support. The tablet offers a 2MP front and 5MP back camera. It is powered by a 4300mAh battery.
Jolla Tablet runs on Sailfish 2.0 OS which is made better to provide better multitasking and usage experience. Its features include ease of switching between apps and all running apps are displayed in a single screen. Users can interact with the apps on the same screen without opening them.
Users can download apps via Jolla Store and the OS also supports Android apps which lets user to run all popular Android apps on their Jolla Tablet. The tablet is set to launch in May next year if crowdfunding campaign becomes successful.
