Chinese company Huawei Technologies is preparing to introduce a new 5.5-inch smartphone in its Honor series. The new phone will be called Honor 6 Plus and it has already received certification from TENAA, the Chinese certification agency like the FCC of US.
The most striking feature of Honor 6 Plus is that it will have 2 cameras on the back and the company is expected to officially unveil the phone on December 16. The dual camera will have re-focus and 3D capture functionality, similar to that of the duo-camera of HTC One M8. However, we will know more details about it only after its official launch.
The Honor 6 Plus has a thickness of only 7.5 mm (dimensions are 150.4 mm x 75.68 mm x 7.5 mm) and weighs 165 gm. Apart from the 5.5-inch FHD TFT display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, the 4G handset will feature 1.8GHz Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 930 octa-core processor, mali-T628 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 64 GB, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing one. The device will have a 3500mAh battery and will come with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
Huawei is also working on another device, the Ascend P8, a successor to the Ascend P7 that was launched about 6 months back. According to rumors, its body will be made of metal and ceramic. The company has launched several smartphones in 2014 in the Honor 3C series, Honor 3X series and also Honor 6, and they have been quite successful.
