Xiaomi is reportedly taking a step forward by introducing a two curved edge smartphone named Xiaomi Arch.  It will be made on similar lines of Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge- but with a dual-edge display.

Xiaomi can utilize one side of the edge to display notifications and controls. Also another edge can be used to to stream live information such as sports scores  and stock prices. The poster is stating that the Arch will be the world’s first dual curved screen smartphone.

There is still no confirmation from the Chinese manufacturer about the Xiaomi Arch. We are expecting Mi5 or MI4S smartphone and the MiPad 2 tablet at CES 2015 from Xiaomi, which are much spotted in leaked images over various websites.

Users need to keep in mind that Xiaomi Arch is nothing more than a concept right now for Xiaomi.  Xiaomi’s low priced business strategy might attract more consumers instead of opting for a premium priced Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge gets FCC Approval for AT&T and T-Mobile

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will come with curved screen and it is also going to be released with the limited edition concept. It is going to be released in South Korea sometime in October. However, there is no further detail on the release date or price in the United States.

However, there is indication floating around in the internet that the device has passed FCC approval for both T-mobile and AT&T. The mobile phone will have model number of SM-N915A.

This is good news! Since this hinted that Samsung will bring Note Edge out to market. There is speculation that we will have the Sprint and Verizon approval within next week.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will have 5.6-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display screen with 2.7GHz Quad Core Processor. It will have 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Memory which can be expandable with microSD up to 64GB. It will have two cameras. The front camera is 3.7MP f/1.9 while the rear camera is 16MP with Smart OIS feature.

It will be preloaded with Android 4.4 Kitkat. It supports Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC and Bluetooth.

Just few days back with heard about a new metal clad premium handset from Samsung that is currently known as the Samsung SM A500 and is probably the next handset in queue to be released by the Korean giant.

The handset has now been spotted on Chinese mobile certification website TENNA where we have got a glimpse of the device. The listing shows the Samsung Galaxy SM A500 to be having just 6.7mm of thickness weighing only 126 grams. Moreover, the photos coming from TENNA give us the confirmation of the device to be having a metal frame. The Samsung SM A500 is tipped to be having a 5inch display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. The device is likely to be having a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 2GB of RAM memory and 16GB of built-in memory with microSD card support up to 128GB. The device would run the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is likely to have a whopping 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing secondary camera. The Samsung SM A500 is also tipped to be coming with a new TouchWiz interface which the company recently introduced at the IFA 2014 Berlin expo along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. We expect this new handset to go official very soon. The price for the device remains still disclosed but specs wise it seems to be a very promising handset from the Korean tech giant.

Amidst all the rumors, leaks and speculations, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is finally official with a bang! All the rumors have almost turned out to be true! The Galaxy Note 4 is considered to be one of the finest devices from the Samsung camp till date. Looking to its sensors, the most happening is the UV sensor which is for the first time ever offered in a smartphone. The UV piece on the Galaxy Note 4 will be able to measure sun’s UV radiations, that can be incorporated to prevent burning of skin that increases the risk on melanoma. Apart from just this, the device will also be offering few biometric sensors, heart rate sensor and an improved finger-print scanner.

The device hosts five UV index like Low, Moderate, High, Very High and Extreme. The S Health will play a major role that will issue tips for sun exposure and tanning depending on the place and time-of-the-day the sensor is used for radiation rating. However, for proper measurement of radiation to take place, the user will need to hold the sensor to 60 degrees against the sun.

Ultra fast charging

With battery life and faster re-charging being the main reason for smartphone users this days, Samsung seems to have come with a solution for this One of the special features of the Galaxy Note 4 is its ability to charge 50% of its battery in just a matter of 30 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 packs a huge battery of 3220mAh of capacity. So even a 30 minute charging would provide sufficient juice for the device to run. The previous Galaxy Note 3 requires about 55 minutes to get up to 50% battery level. Samsung has however not unveiled the specifics of the tech behind this operation. It is said that the processor has a bit contribution to this fast charging feature. Additionally, it could be said that Samsung might have increased the charging amperes with its charger too!

S-Pen from Montblanc

The S-Pen is one of the most notable features of the Galaxy Note 4 series. This time after releasing many teaser videos, it seems that Samsung has paid a considerable amount of attention to its this feature. To make its S-Pen look more luxurious, Samsung has teamed with Montblanc for some special kind of S-Pens.

As far as the industry of writing instruments is considered, Montblanc is a name to reckon with! Samsung and Montblanc have now teamed together for their styluses of Note 4 which they proudly call it as “digital writing devices”. The new stylus of Note 4 looks really more stylish compared to the earlier ones. The new stylus features swappable nibs for various pen nibs. After all the waiting, Samsung has finally unveiled its premium clad Galaxy Note 4. The good thing is that the Galaxy Note 4 has arrived in two iterations where the other model that was said to be coming with a curved display has finally gone official with the name of Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Well looking to the above image, it seems that the right side of the screen folds that enables unique interaction.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is basically the Galaxy Note 4’s other iteration with a different display where the extra folded parts pack 160 pixels and the total pixel resolution stands to 1600×2560 pixels. Samsung while designing the curved display has ensured that just any of accidental touches will not create any kind of problem to the device. Even when the handset would be locked, the side curved display will display some Quick Glance info like notifications and time. On waking up the screen, the side will display notifications for different features like flashlight shortcuts, ruler and timer.

On unlocking the phone, the options of curved side display use increases. The side curved display can also be used for multi-tasking by switching between different screens. With the curved display, users can even handle the switching between app drawer and homescreen. Users can even keep individual apps on the curved side display. Even thecamera and video control put their controls on the side and the screen could be left for video/viewfinder. Samsung has announced that it will release an API to encourage third party developers to make potential and optimum use of the curved display. It can be thus said that the major glamour of the Galaxy Note Edge is its curved display.

 

Apart from this, looking to its other specs, the handset would be powered with a powerful Snapdragon 805 or Exynos 5433 chipset processor, 16MP camera with OIS, S Pen stylus and Android 4.4 on-board. The Galaxy Note Edge has a bit smaller battery with 3000mAh of battery capacity. The smartphone is expected to launch by the year end.
