Samsung SM-J100F 4.8” smartphone spotted on GFXBench

It was only last week that we saw Samsung’s new model SM-E500F listed on the import-export tracking website Zauba and it was thought that the Korean company might be coming up with a new E-series. Then there came the Galaxy Core Prime SM-G360P passing through the FCC. Soon after, we now have Samsung model SM-J100F spotted in GFXBench.

This is the new J-series we are seeing here. Looks like Samsung has quite a few number of new smartphones lined up its sleeve even though Samsung has reportedly decided to launch less models 2015 in a bid to cut costs and improve sales and profits.

Most of the specs of the new model SM-J100F have been revealed in the benchmarks. It looks like a low-end single SIM device featuring a 4.8-inch multitouch touchscreen with 800 x 480p resolution (pixel density 194ppi). The handset has a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Marvell PXA1908 (ARMv7) CPU and for graphics it has a Vivante GC7000UL GPU. The chipset supports 4G LTE (max. download speed of 150Mbps). In the memory department, there’s 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM (2.2GB accessible to user).

The benchmarked SM-J100F phone will have 5MP (2592 x 1944p) cameras in both front and rear, both capable of recording 1080p videos. The handset will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat, probably with Samsung’s Touchwiz UI. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Samsung SM-J100F is expected to be launched early next year. Its pricing is not known yet but as mentioned earlier, it is a budget phone.
