There have been quite a rumors about Indian handset manufacturer Micromax launching its new CyanogenMod powered smartphone. The smartphone maker has exclusive partnered with Cyanogen Inc to launch its own CyanogenMod powered device under the “Yu” brand. The good news is that the first official CyanogenMod powered handset is out there in the market and is named as the Micromax Yureka.
The smartphone comes with some really very good specs carrying out a very reasonable price tag of just $142 or Rs 8999. The Micromax Yureka sports a 5.5inch display with 720p resolution and comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection having Oleophobic coating. The good thing is that it is 4G/LTE enabled and even supports dual-SIM functionality. The device is powered with a powerful 64-bit chipset namely the octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz along with a Adreno 405 GPU.the device has a god 2GB of DDR3 RAM on-board. The internal storage of the device is 16GB along with a microSD card slot for expandable memory. To its back there is a powerful 13MP camera with Sony Exmor sensor while its front hosts a 5MP secondary camera. The device has a good battery backup of 2500mAh.
Being an Cyanogen exclusive handset the smartphone currently runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat based on CyanogenMod 11. This facilitates the smartphone to be having a built-in theme support along with a Nextbit Baton complaint that allows users to sync and backup all your apps over different CyanogenMod powered devices even without loosing your settings and precious data. We are sure that with such powerful specs and appealing price tag the handset is surely going to offer a tough competition to its rivals. Check out all the images of the device.
