HTC Rumored to Launch Low Entry Tablet in Q2 2015

According to the recent tweet from @upleaks, HTC is going to release an entry level of tablet with the code name of HTC H7 in the second quarter of 2015. There is no further detail or whatsoever about the tablet, including the screen size, display resolution, chipset and design. The only hint that we know that it is most probably will have a 7-inch screen size if we based on the codename.

HTC is one of the manufacturers of Google’s Nexus devices. Last year, HTC worked with Google to make Nexus 9. Recently, Nexus 9 has received an update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for its OS. With the partnership ended, it is expected that HTC will produce some of the better quality of tablets since then.

There is also another rumor that HTC might produce another tablet which is a Nexus 9 version with MediaTek chipset which is going to launch in Chinese market. However, so far, it is not realized yet. It seems that HTC will need to make the product announcement latest by end of June if the company wants to materialize the product.

Samsung introduces Look At Me app that helps Autistic Kids to communicate better

Samsung Electronics has developed a Look At Me app that helps autistic children to communicate in a better way. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that impairs the ability for communication and social interaction in a person. Kids with autism usually have difficulty in making eye contact with another person. Look At Me interactive camera app will help them to improve communication and social skills, and deepen relationships with people around them.

It has been found that autistic kids like using smart devices. In order to help such kids, Samsung worked with two universities in Seoul, South Korea – Seoul National University and Yonsei University, to develop this Look At Me camera app that uses the camera of a smartphone or a tablet. They conducted clinical trials on 20 kids for 8 weeks in which 60% of them showed improved abilities to make eye contact with others.

The Look At Me app is basically a series of 7 interesting interactive missions that help kids take photos, to remember faces, read facial expressions and understand moods. Sounds and visual effects keep the kids interested. They also remain motivated by the getting points and rewards.

Apple SIM allows you to switch between AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile

The newly introduced Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 come with the new Apple SIM cards that allow customers to switch between services of different carriers. In the US, the Apple SIM works with AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile and in the UK with EE. The carrier list will of course grow in time. A user can change the network any time, he just has to choose the cellular carrier through the screen settings on the iPad.

Surprisingly, information about the built-in Apple SIM in the new iPads has been tucked away in the wireless connectivity section of iPad Air 2 in the company’s website. The info says:

” The new Apple SIM is preinstalled on iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular models. The Apple SIM gives you the flexibility to choose from a variety of short-term plans from select carriers in the U.S. and UK right on your iPad. So whenever you need it, you can choose the plan that works best for you — with no long-term commitments. And when you travel, you may also be able to choose a data plan from a local carrier for the duration of your trip.

You cannot buy an Apple SIM separately at present but comes with cellular-enabled versions of tablets iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. It now appears that AT&T will lock the SIM to its own network and the user will have to buy a new SIM card if he wants to use another carrier. This might take some of the shine off the Apple SIM.

An Introduction To The Apple iPad Air 2 8MP Camera"s New Features

When you want to capture a moment in a photograph all you need is a good camera at arms reach. These days most phones and tablets come with their own cameras but quality really matters. A blurry or dark picture is often unusable when taken with a poor quality camera. A lot of people use phones and tablets to take pictures these days and this is where Apple really shines.

Apple phones and tablets are best known for their excellent cameras. When a camera isn’t  around, you can take good quality pictures with your Apple tablet. Apple is bringing a few new features to its ultra slim tablet with iPad Air 2 this year.

New features include the ability to shoot 1080p video with stereo sound. Slow motion pictures can be recorded at 120-fps and time-lapse pictures can be recorded as well. Panoramas of up to 43 megapixels can now be captured with this new camera. Other new features are Auto HDR, self-timer, and manual exposure control.

The iPad Air 2 now comes with an 8MP iSight camera. Compared to last year, the iPad Air 2 gets 66% more pixels. The pixel size for this camera is a tiny 1.12 microns. The aperture size of the camera is F2.4.

The SoC that processes these digital images is Apple’s own A8X. The iPad Air 2 can now detect faces much better and from a longer distance. This helps focus the image and identify faces in the picture. The new camera also comes with better noise reduction for clearer photographs.

So there you have it. The Apple iPad Air 2 camera is a pretty decent camera for a tablet. What would you do with the slow-motion or time-lapse feature? Please tell us in the comments section below.

The Korean publication says that the device will be like a tablet, and it will have a 8 to 9 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display. The fact that its a foldable display is whats special about this product. According to the source, the display will have a plastic surface instead of glass, and it will be a touch display. It can be folded in two places at once, making it compact and easy to store in a handbag or a large pocket.

The real challenge when making such a product is to make a display that has good enough image quality and durability. It shouldn’t break even after thousands of folding attempts, and Samsung seems to have done just that. This device is also similar to a tri-foldable patent filed by Samsung not too long ago.

The people at Samsung have been thinking about common uses for this product. Its a product that can be easily folded and carried in a handbag. The people at Samsung also realize that a new interface may be needed as well as apps that can take full advantage of this device. These new apps will probably respond to the product being folded.
