Samsung partners with Vogue and GQ for fashion campaign to promote Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

The South Korean electronics giant announced that it was partnering with two popular fashion magazines Vogue and GQ and create a global campaign for promoting its flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Readers may recall that last year too, Samsung had partnered with Vogue to promote its Galaxy S5 smartphone. In March this year, the company had announced the “Rich Accessory Collection” for these two devices such as protective cases made by renowned luxury brands Swarovski, Montblanc, Rebecca Minkoff, Romero Britto and Burton. These accessories were subsequently made available for purchase earlier this month.

Samsung seems to be putting all out efforts to promote its latest flagship handsets. The partnership with Vogue and GQ will help the company to reach out to the fashion conscious public who reads these magazines and grow sales of these smartphones. Recently, Samsung had also tried to take on Apple’s iPhone 6 with a couple of promo videos showing how its Galaxy S6 edge was better than the iPhone 6.

Samsung’s latest Galazy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are currently the most fashionable smartphones in the market and its partnership with Vogue and GQ is sure to yield great results in terms of sales.

Reports: Samsung Galaxy S6 likely to get iPhone like exposure setting

Last September 2014, when Apple unveiled its iOS 8, it brought a number of camera enhancement features to its platform. One of them included the manual control for the exposure. For this, user needs to tap of the object of focus and move the slider to the right of the marker box, slide up and down and voila in order to control your exposure.

Now many of the handset manufacturers offer this user-control over exposure in most of its premium flagship handsets. However, the solution provided by Apple is very convenient and offers a more better user experience of using the camera controls. However, a recent rumors says that the upcoming update would be bringing a similar manual exposure feature control and is likely to be based on Android 5.1.

The recent information coming from SamMobile shows some of the snapshots(below) that shows up the manual control pretty much similar to the one coming in iOS. The control uses just a light bulb-icon as a slider marker in place of the sun’s in the iPhone’s camera. Check out the leaked screenshots below. the company is expected to bring this feature to the Galaxy S6 in the next Android update.

The Android 5.1 update is expected to be coming in the first week of June where we can possibly see the implantation of this feature. Check out the screenshots below.

The alleged upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Active to arrive with a microSD card slot priced a bit higher.

Korean tech giant Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this month at the MWC 2015. One of the major changes that we saw this time and as such usually don’t see with Samsung flagships was the removal of microSD card slot for additional expandable memory and a user replaceable battery. Samsung has really managed to convince their users on the removable battery issue by introducing a number of power saving modes and other things. However, it would be difficult for their fans to swallow down the line the non-inclusion of microSD card as they are always boasted for huge memory provision every time.

For all those to whom the microSD card slot matters a lot, the Korean giant has got a drill. A recent from Reddit shows that Samsung is planning to arrive with one more variant of the Galaxy S6 called as the Galaxy S6 Active. In a recent interview of one of the executives by a Reddit user “garshol” a number of upcoming Galaxy handsets were discussed of which the Galaxy S6 Active was discussed a lot. The Active variant of the premium flagship would have almost similar hardware to offer and would come with a provision of microSD card slot. Additionally, the camera for this variant would be of bit lower class but would still feature OIS. Moreover, the model will lack a heartbeat sensor and will not have a fingerprint scanner.

Additionally it is also said that the Active variant would have a removable battery and also the inclusion of physical buttons to its front. The handset is said to be in its final developmental stage and could be launched anytime in mid-Summer.

Samsung Removed microSD slot and Removable Battery Concept from Galaxy S6

Samsung sales have been declining during the past few years. There are a few factors which could lead to this. One of them might be because there are a lot of smartphones in the market which are running on the same operating system as Samsung, Android, and lower in cost but offers almost the same kind of user experience as Samsung. This might hurts Samsung’s sales from the lower-end level. As from the higher-end level, Apple, Samsung’s competitor, has come out with a lot of interesting new features and products such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.

Another factor which can be considered is that there is not many changes on Samsung’s smartphone design or feature which makes the consumers want to buy it. Therefore, for the newly released product, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung decided to remove microSD slot and the removable battery concept from it. Samsung Galaxy S6 users cannot open the back cover of the device.

Apart from the outer appearance, Samsung also do some changes on the inner components of the product. Galaxy S6 operates on 64-bit eight-core in-house processor, a QHD display with nearly two times the pixels per inch of the new iPhone, quick charging feature as well as 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

On top of that, there are some rumors that Samsung is working on Galaxy S6 Active which has a similar feature as Galaxy S6 but with some additional feature such as waterproofing, microSD and a removable battery. Since there are a lot of variants, hopefully, there is one variant that can fit into each customer’s definition of a smartphone.
