Apple Watch at Paris Fashion Week

Apple watch made its first public appearance in Paris Fashion Week recently. Apple collaborated with Parisian fashion boutique Colette to show off the new Apple Watch at the retailer gallery on Rue Saint-Honore in Paris for one day only. Long before the event started, there was already a long queue forming around the event location.

In the event, both 38mm and 42mm versions of Apple Watch Sport Collection and some models from Apple Watch Collection as well as Apple Watch Edition Collection including the 18-karat gold casings and a sapphire screen version were displayed.  Customers were not allowed to touch or try the smart watch capabilities. Only journalists from selected editing company were allowed to try on the device. There is also no further detail released on the full pricing and the battery life.

Some famous guests in the event were present in the event, including Apple’s Senior Vice President of Design Jony Ive and the newly hired Apple designer Marc Newson as well as the notable designer Karl Lagerfield, Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, fashion journalist Jean-Seb Stehli and Elle Magazine editor-in-chief Robbie Myers.

It seems like Apple will not only promote the smart watch as a consumer electronics product but also as a fashionable accessory. Previously prior to this event, Apple has also invited some top fashion editor and bloggers to its September 9 media event, some of them were allowed to try the smart watch.

Apple is planning to launch the smart watch in early 2015, provided if it is able to solve its development issues. The Apple Watch will be priced starting at $349 and it can go up to $1,200 for the high-end edition version.
