LG today went out announcing its first much rumored (codenamed Odin) chipset NUCLUN that comes with an eight-core to its heart. In addition the company also announced a new LG G3 Screen that is powered with this chipset. This new processor that is named as NUCLUN is pronounced as “NOO-klun”. This is basically an octa-core chipset that comes with four ARM Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and the other four cores clocked at 1.2GHz where the later four are unleashed when less processing intensive tasks are being carried out. This new chipset from LG uses the ARM big.LITTLE technology and supports LTE-A Cat. 6 offering download speeds up to 225Mbps.
However, LG has not unveiled as to how many of its handsets in the future would get their home baked chipsets but has named the current handset running on it as the LG G3 Screen. This is the same LG Liger which we spotted earlier this and arrives in three model numbers of F490L, F490S and F490K. Looking to its specs, the LG G3 Screen offers a little larger screen than the parent LG G3 with 5.9inch IPS display having full HD 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The memory options for the device include a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The device has also got a “high fidelity” 1W speaker along with 3000mAh of battery capacity. The device at its back offers a primary camera of 13MP with OIS+ while a secondary camera of 2.1MP to its front. The handset runs the latest available Android 4.4 KitKat weighing 182 grams and measures just 9.5mm of thickness. The handset is specifically supposed to be made for the Korean market and costs around about $750.
