Apple starts back to school gift card promotion

Apple has once again started its Back To School promotional campaign, offering lucrative deals to students looking to invest in a new iPhone ,Mac, or iPad.Those qualifying can expect a $100Apple Store gift card with any Mac purchase(excluding the Mac mini). Students can also claim themselves a $50 gift card while buying an iPhone or iPad.

The Back To School promo officially started from Tuesday, and runs through to September 9th, so you still have plenty of time to decide if you have another busy year of studying in your plans.According to the promotion, the cards can be used at Apple’s online store, its retail outlets, or for any purchase made over the phone by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.

Earlier also, Apple has offered iTunes Store cards of similar value, this deal means that a user can spend the credit on peripherals, software, cases, and other such effects. After all, a student may desire to buy a decent case to carry their new acquisition around in, and while App Store credit is also handy for grabbing new apps, students at college and university tend to have other means of obtaining the necessary apps and programs at discounted rates.

There are a couple of stipulations. To qualify for the gift card, you must purchase one of the following items, as underlined in Apple’s terms and conditions:

• Eligible Apple Computers: iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or Mac Pro.

• Eligible iPhone: iPhone 4s, 5c, or 5s.

• Eligible iPad: iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina display, iPad with Retina display (current generation), or iPad Mini.

And you must make the purchase through Apple’s education program. That means you must be a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying an item for a college student, or a faculty or staff member from any grade level. Eligible students also receive a discount on the purchased item through special pricing.

Apple is running similar deals in other marketplaces, including Canada, where the gift card values run from $55 to $110; the U.K., where the cards come in £30 and £60 denominations; and Germany, where the promotion rewards €35 to €70 for app purchases.
