Unknown Samsung smartphone with model number SM-G430 having 5.5inch 1080p display and Snapdragon 810 chipset spotted

Indian company Zauba that tracks import/export shipment records, is quite known for its releasing of information for unreleased devices. Recently on the website an unknown Samsung handset with model number SM-G430 that is currently said to be in R&D work has been spotted having a 5.5inch display.

It is said that nearly 17 units of this handset have been spotted after which Dutch TechTastic got to the user agent profile of the device revealing some more details about the device. The Samsung SM-G430 is said to have a 5.5inch display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution with some 401ppi density. The device is said to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset to its heart clocked at whopping 2.5GHz. this probably could mean that this could be a high-end flagship running the Android 4.4.4 KitKat on-board.

It should be seen as to when we could get some official news regarding the handset in the coming year 2015. One thing is sure that with so many handset with high-end specs available at a very affordable price in the market Samsung would surely have a tough time from its competitiors unless they price it otherwise. Here are some of the screenshots for the same.

New LG Nexus Tablet appears in Import Database, could be Nexus 8 or new model of Nexus 10

An LG Nexus Tablet has been spotted in the import list of Indian import/export tracker Zauba. A June 4 listing on the Zauba website shows a brand new LG Nexus tablet originating from UAE has entered India through Bangalore Air Cargo.

Earlier this month we saw Prototypes of Nexus 8 Tablets entering India on the same website. It is possible that the LG Nexus Tablet is the same Nexus 8 which we saw earlier. Or alternatively, there is also a possibility that this is the Nexus 10 Tablet that LG might be developing since the listing does not mention its screen size. Nexus 10 was introduced by Google in 2012 it is rumored to be getting replaced by a new model.

LG Nexus Tablet listing

Unfortunately, not much information is available in the import manifest except that the LG Nexus Tablet will have 32GB of storage memory. Nexus 7 has been manufactured by Asus while Nexus 10 has been developed by Samsung. HTC is rumored to be working on a 8.9-inch Nexus Tablet which might be the Nexus 9 or maybe Nexus 8.

Google’s Nexus 8 is tipped to be powered by 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 CPU and sport a 2GB RAM, 16GB and 32GB internal storage options, an 8MP primary shooter and a 3MP front-facing one.

Everyone expected Google to unveil its next Nexus Tablet at the I/O 2014 developer conference but that was not to be. It appears that the new Tablet will be introduced when the Android L is launched this fall.

Prototypes of Nexus 8 tablet shipped to India, spotted in Indian import database

There have been a lot of rumors and leaks regarding Nexus 8 and people were expecting Google to launch the successor to Nexus 7 at the I/O event. But this did not happen. Now it so happens that four Nexus 8 tablets have been shipped to India in the past few days. They have appeared in the database of the Indian website Zauba that tracks import-export data.

In the database, it can be seen that two shipments have arrived at the Bangalore airport in India. The first shipment dated 30 June 2014 shows product description as” NEXUS8 PROTOTYPE TABLET SIMILAR TO NEXUS(7)” and consists of two units valued at INR 32,968. The second entry is dated 4 July 2014 and says “NEXUS8 PROTOTYPE TABLET” and this too consists of two units valued at INR 33,298. So the cost of one tablet will be around INR 16,500 – INR 16,700 which comes to about US $275 – $280.

The two entries can be seen in the following image:

Except for mentioning the fact that Nexus 8 is similar to Nexus 7, the database gives no other information such as specs etc. Name of the manufacturing company is not mentioned but since the Nexus Prototypes have come from the US, they may have come from Google itself.

Last month, there was a rumor that HTC was working on an 8.9-inch Nexus tablet codenamed Volantis tipped to be the Nexus 9. But now, it might as well be the Nexus 8 instead. The device will have a 2048×1440 p resolution and will be powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit CPU with a 2GB RAM and two internal storage options of 16GB and 32GB. The tablet will have an 8MP rear camera and a 3MP front camera.

However, it has not been confirmed whether the HTC Volantis will be the Nexus 8 or Nexus 9 tablet. Other possible manufacturers of Nexus 8 are Asus and LG. Nexus 7 tablet has been developed by Asus, while Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 have been developed by LG.

We can hope for an announcement about the Nexus 8 from Google later this year. Maybe the company coincides the unveiling of Nexus 8 with the official release of Android L.

6.2-inch Samsung SM-T255 Tablet Spotted on Benchmarks

Following the track of Sony (Xperia Z ultra), it appears like Samsung is also working on a Android device with 6 inch plus display. The rumors started pouring in after a new handset codenamed Samsung SM-T255 has been spotted on GFXBench database boasting 6.2 inch HD 1280×720 pixel display. Since Samsung already has its Mega lineup of smartphones with 5.9-inch and 6.3-inch displays, it  could tie in with the Galaxy Tab series of devices.

From the GFXBench listing, it is tipped that the Samsung SM-T255 device will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean platform and come equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under its hood. The device is also claimed to come packed with 16 GB of internal storage capacity, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 MP primary camera with auto focus, flash and FHD video recording coupled with 2 MP front-facing snapper and connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS.

Details such as lack of SIM card slot and model number were revealed from the benchmark database. Also, the Wi-Fi Alliance certification has let out the product description and it claims that it is not a phablet, instead it is a small size tablet device.

As of now, there is no clear picture on when the tablet will be announced and on its pricing. But the well-known tracker, Zauba caught the SM-T255  visiting India back in March and later valued the 6.2 incher tablet at INR 28,065 ($465), so way north of both the estimated worth of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and that of the GTab 4 7.0.
