Everyone’s eyes are on the Mobile World Congress 2015 scheduled to be held in Barcelona, Spain where smartphone companies are expected to release their new flagships. Notable among them are Sony Xperia Z4, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, and HTC One M9 (Hima).
Surprisingly, there have been very few leaks and rumors than usual about Sony’s upcoming flagship compared to the other two companies, casting a doubt in our minds whether the Japanese tech giant is really ready to release the Xperia Z4.
Now Xperia Blog has received information from sources that Sony Mobile is not planning to hold any official press event at the MWC this year as it is was doing every year up until now. Instead, it will just have a booth at the event that is to be held from 2nd to 5th March. There will be a welcome greeting from the Company’s side at the booth opening on 2nd March for the media that will be present at the time.
However, this is quite surprising because Sony is in the habit of releasing a new flagship every six months claiming that due to the fast changing technology, it will be able to continuously offer the latest and the best features to its customers. But Sony seems to have realized that its strategy of releasing a new flagship every six months is causing problems in distribution and is negatively affecting its sales.
So maybe this is the reason Sony has pushed back the release of its new flagship, the Xperia Z4. Well, we will know soon enough at the MWC which is not far away now.
