As Apple Pay is increasingly accepted in most of retailer shops, it is becoming important that the TouchID functionality on iPhone needs to work more flawlessly with lesser error reading. TouchID should be integrated in the home button just like on iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 on the next generation of iPhone, despite with Apple has been toying with the idea of embedded it into the device’s display screen instead. However, nothing has been finalized yet as of now.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI securities, although Apple has filed patents for integration for Touch ID and touch panel, however, it is not going to be happening in the near future since there is also a complex algorithm and sapphire cover lens is also required for the integration to work. Therefore, there should be no impact on the supply chain momentum too.
Touch ID was first introduced in 2013 for iPhone 5S and the functionality is expanded to support the Apple Pay service. Apple Pay is a digital wallet service provided by Apple. With the latest product from Apple, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, users are able to just scan their fingerprint to authorize a payment. Apple Pay is also supported for iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2 as well as other later devices from Apple.
The next generation of iPhone also rumored to come with a 8MP rear camera. However, most likely that Apple will not announced any new device until September 2015.
