There has been significant progress in the construction of Apple’s gigantic Campus 2 coming up in Cupertino, CA. New photos and drone videos of the site are now available showing the progress that has been made till now.
Have a look at the latest 4K video by Myithz shot by a drone flying over the site. The video shows that work is going on in full force and Apple has made quite a lot of progress up till now.
Steve Jobs had first announced the company’s plans about the 176-acre project in 2006. Apple’s Campus 2 is coming up on an old HP campus site. Because it is designed like a flying saucer, Campus 2 is also called the “Spaceship”.
Actual demolition of old buildings and earthwork began in late 2013/early 2014. It is said that about 95% of the debris from the demolished buildings will be recycled and used in new structures. Apple plans to complete the construction by 2016 and hopes to move about 12,000 of its employees to the new location by 2017.
Apple’s Campus 2 will house offices, space for research and development, a large theater, dining facilities and other structures. The company also plans to plant hundreds of mature trees there.
Apple has been providing updates about the progress from time to time. Here are some photos of the under-construction Apple’s Campus 2:
