The news is confirmed in Swiss Sunday newspaper NZZ am Sonntag. As there are more and more smart watches products from technology companies such as Samsung or Apple, Switzerland’s watch industry is also facing competition from these products. The smart watch nowadays have the capabilities of making calls, receive messages and also monitor fitness by connecting to the smart phone.
“We want to launch a smart watch at TAG Heuer, but it must not copy the Apple Watch”, Jean-Claude Biver told the newspaper.
Biver confirmed that TAG Heuer is working on smart watch. It is expected to be displayed at the Basel watch fair this coming spring in Switzerland, although it may be released earlier. There is no confirmation on the details about the features or the appearance of the TAG Heuer smart watch.
LVMH, the company behind TAG Heuer is not entirely new to the smart watch industry, since it also made a one-off smart watch for members of the Oracle sailing team. Well, we are excited to see it!
