Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus runs on A8 processor. There are two billion transistors in the processor which is apparently twice of the number found in A7. It is built on TSMC’s 20nm process. A8 is measured at 89mm2, which is 13 percent smaller than A7. A7 is measured at 102 mm2. Even though it is smaller in size but it has up to 25 percent faster CPU and 50 percent faster graphics. On top of that, it has 50 percent more energy efficient than A7.

The Focus Pixel of the camera is reportedly enabling twice improvement in autofocus (AF) system as compared in the previous generation. iPhone 6 plus will have the premium camera with introduction of optical image stabilization (OIS). This technology has already in use or on the road map of several other smart phone manufacturers.

The good news is that both iPhones can have up to 1080p video performance with 30/60 fps and up to 240 fps for slo-mo.
