Huawei announces its Honor Play 4 with on-board NFC and 64 bit processor

Chinese handset manufacturer Huawei has recently announced its new affordable handset Honor Play 4 that comes with NFC on-board and a 64-bit processor.  The smartphone is priced just for a $130 approximate price.


At such a low cost, the smartphone offers some really very promising specs like a 5 inch display screen having 1280×720 pixel resolution. At its heart lies a quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC that is built on the 64-bit architecture. The memory options for the device include a gig of RAM and an 8GB of built-in storage with microSD card support for expandable memory.

The smartphone is expected to go on sale today for $130 through the company’s own Vmall Chinese store with a tie up with China Telecom only at the moment. However, the company has not said any word regarding its plans for the global roll-out to other countries apart from China at the moment. In order to unleash the processing power of 64-bit architecture, it is said that Huawei might upgrade the OS from Android 4.4.3 to Android L. With the 64-bit processing, the computational power used will get effectively reduced due to the ARM Cortex A53 cores.

Exynos 5433 chipset baked in Galaxy Note 4 is a 64-bit chipset according to source code

Earlier this month at the IFA 2014 Berlin expo, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge both hosting some very premium specs on-board. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which comes with Samsung’s own Exynos 5433 chipset, however the company has not been much vocal about the baked silicon and has just said the device to be having a 1.9GHz octa-core processor. Well, its good news for all the Samsung fans as the source code for the device reveals that the Exynos 5433 chipset comes with a 64-bit ARM architecture having the Cortex A-57/53 configuration.


This makes the Galaxy Note 4 as the first Android handset to have a 64-bit chipset on paper. However looking to its GPU, it is the ARM’s latest Mali T760 clocked at whopping 700MHz that would certainly contribute towards higher and uninterrupted performance of the Galaxy Note 4.


Well, for the moment Samsung might be keeping itself from advertising its 64-bit chipset is because Android L is about to arrive an its believed that after the introduction of Material Design, there would be apps that would truly be able to unlock the potential of 64-bit architecture. HTC Desire 820 is official with 64-bit smartphone: Official Images and Promo Video

Amidst much rumors and leaks, the HTC Deisre 820 is finally official with a powerful 64-bit processor. The HTC Desire 820 comes as the successor to the desire 816 and will be the second smartphone from the HTC camp to have the 64-bit processor.

Looking straight to its specs, the HTC Desire 820 comes with a 5.5inch display having 1280×720 pixel resolution and bakes a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor with octa-core CPU and eight Cortes A53 cores, four of which are clocked at 1.0GHz and the other four at 1.5GHz. For graphics support, the device also offers a Adreno 405 GPU. As the SoC is based on 64-bit architecture, the device is likey to get ahead the Android L update designed for 64-bit processing. To its back, the HTC Desire 820 hosts a 13MP primary camera while the front hosts a 8MP secondary camera and HTC’s own BoomSound speakers. The handset is expected to host Cat 4 LTE connectivity. Nexus 9 likely to host a 64-bit Tegra K1 chipset confirms CPU-Z

The 8.9” inch Nexus tablet that is likely to arrive this year as a joint product of HTC and Google and the device is staying these quite in rumors with the name of Nexus 9. The latest reports coming from the hardware accessing app CPU-Z show that the upcoming Nexus 9 with host a NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit chipset.
