This information has recently arrived from NVIDIA’s legal filings that are associated to the legal battle of the company against Samsung and Qualcomm over some of the GPU technology patents.

This section highlights more from the marketing perspective talking more about the Tegra K1 SoC and mentions about how the chip is  “so powerful it is being used in products other than smartphones and tablets” just like TVs, Chromebooks and Project Tango tablet which is associated with tracking and mapping of 3D environments. Later in the same section, NVIDIA mentions “HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014″.

With September being the last month of Q3, we expect the device to go official in coming days soon! Just a recap, the HTC Nexus 9 will feature a 8.9inch display having 2560×1600 pixel resolution with a Tegra K1 64-bit processor tipped on-board.

Smartphones Might have NVIDIA Tegra K1 Soon

Tegra K1 Smartphones Might have NVIDIA Tegra K1 Soon

The NVIDIA Tegra K1 is a high caliber processor of a chip, but the idea of applying it to smartphones was perceived as unfeasible. At present this powerful processor is allotted for tablets, but most probably it can hop into smartphones in the near future.

In a recent announcement, Jen-Hsun acquainted that the company’s priority would be to  emphasize on powering up the tablets instead of striving for the smartphone market. Though, Tegra K1 and Tegra K1 Denver chips might be used for some specific smartphones.

Biggest issue to ingrain these powerful tech into smartphone is the cost. If these mobile devices are subjected to use these processors, it has to inculcate Icera 500 modem for LTE with 3G connectivity which ultimately implies a higher cost of production and hence spending more money. All these incur a low profit to the manufacturers. Upscaled mobile can definitely use K1.  NVIDIA is focusing more on tablets but it is also trying its hand on some next phone where you might find their chips inserted.

Who will mind getting a revved up processor, which equalizes you PC gaming system and high end graphics in the mobile device itself. This certainly means you can encounter more enticing experiences.

Tegra K1 has the same structure as NVDIA Kepler architecture that operates the fastest supercomputers in the United States. Capable of providing leading computer applications, it is a tempting device for game developers as well. Renovating and redefining the tech world crossing your horizon of imagination, this processor brings the whole PC world into a compact and powerful mobile device.

Now its your choice to opt for the Tegra K1 integrated mobile device or to go for the tablet. The array of functions it can deliver with a matched costing is worth giving a try.

NVIDIA Tegra K1 Destroys Tegra 4 and Snapdragon 801 in Benchmarks

The Tegra K1 is the fastest in Nvidia’s latest series of SoCs. SoC stands for system on a chip, so its basically a chip with contains not only the GPU but many other components like wifi and RAM and other stuff. The Tegra K1 chip is to be released in both 32 bit and 64 bit forms. The 32 bit chips are to be released first. Since Tegra K1 is a huge leap in performance, we have been waiting patiently for a phone to be released that takes advantage of the Tegra K1′s muscle.

After several months of waiting its finally here, Xiaomi has announced the first tablet to use the Tegra K1. This could mean that the Tegra K1 will now start appearing in more devices soon. Thats all great but how does it fare against the Snapdragon 801 and the Tegra 4? I hear you ask. Well lets look at some graphs and find out. As a matter of fact I have some graphs right here. Lets take a look.

Nvidia Tegra K1 Punches Competition In The Face

Nvidia  has been telling us that the Tegra K1 will be extremely powerful. Nvidia is using the CUDA technology in this chip, making it the first of its kind. In fact they are even making claims that the Tegra K1 is 50 times faster than the Tegra 2, and that it can beat the Xbox 360 and the PS3 all the while consuming less power. Now thats just ridiculous Nvidia.

Wow, that was a lot. Well we can tell by looking at these graphs that the blue line is winning a lot. It must be faster and its probably better than those snapdragon 801 and and tegra 4 chips.

The K1 is faster in browsing and games, and it doesn’t use a lot of power either. It really impressed us, We live in interesting times and a lot of interesting things are definitely happening in the smartphone tech industry.

So what do you think? Are you excited about this or is it just another boring super fast chip. Let us know in the comments section below.
