OnePlus 2 uploaded a teaser image on one of the social media recently, informing that the fingerprint scanner is going to be part of the device as the security feature. The smartphone will be showcased soon in a launch event different than any other launch event that has been done before. It is going to be launched via a VR(Virtual Reality) event which hopefully will allow users to have a different experience to try the smartphone. The event will be held on July 27th starting at 10PM EDT.
OnePlus 2 will have a 5.5-inch to 5.7-inch screen display screen size. The resolution is not disclosed yet; however, most probably it is going to be either FHD (1080 x 1920) or QHD (1440 x 2560). One thing of sure is that the device will be running on Snapdragon 810 SoC which includes an octa-core CPU and Adreno 430 GPU. Eventhough OnePlus 2 is using the 2.1 version of the SoC, however, looking at another smartphone, Sony Xperia Z3+, which is also using the same version of the chipset is still suffering from the overheating issue. Well, hopefully, it does not happen in OnePlus 2. On top of that, OnePlus 2 will be coming with Type-C USB port which boasts faster data transfer rate and more convenience to the user as it allows users to plug in the cable with either side of the end.
Unfortunately, OnePlus 2 is only available for people who already requested for the invitation beforehand. Therefore, not everybody is going to be able to buy it. It seems like the company is doing this to balance the supply and demand. However, hopefully, we do not have to hear about any shortage of the device as what has happened on the launch of OnePlus One last year.
