With only one month to go for the eagerly awaited launch of OnePlus 2, a couple of images showing both the front and the back sides of the device have leaked online. The alleged photos of OnePlus’s upcoming flagship are not too clear but show it to be quite similar to its predecessor in terms of design. The photo of the backside shows it to have a fingerprint scanner beneath the camera and LED flash.
OnePlus has already confirmed that its new flagship OnePlus 2 will be officially launched on 27 July in Virtual Reality style. This is an unconventional launching style and OnePlus is even sending outcardboard VR headset to those who request it, thus spending quite a lot of money on this. After the success of OnePlus One, the company is under pressure to come out with an even better successor. The company’s mission is to produce smartphones with premium specs and selling them at affordable prices.
OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch display having a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset. It’s 64GB Sandstone Black version was priced at $399 while the 16GB Silk White model was priced at $349. The company had expected to sell around 50,000 to 100,000 handsets but ended up selling almost one million handsets.
Now the upcoming flagship OnePlus 2 is expected to sport a 5.5 to 5.7-inch screen, an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 GPU. It will also have the new Type-C USB port that allows the user to insert the cable connector keeping any side up. This handset is supposed to come with a price tag of less than $300.
However, since there is no official confirmation from the company, the leaked images may be taken with a pinch of salt for now. We will keep you advised about the latest developments as and when we get them. Meanwhile, stay tuned!
