Slowly Unveiling the Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro

If you remember last week I posted the Lenovo K920 teaser including a picture of its top part. Right now, fellows, what we have is the picture of its rear look! Image is still released by Arthur Wei, Lenovo’s Chief Marketing Officer in China. Seriously, the suspense effect is getting a little frustrating. Anyway, August 5 is soon to come and we will finally see the whole of Lenovo’s flagship smartphone, Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro.

Good thing, along with this image is a full specification list of the phone. What Mr Wei kept reserved with the visuals, he made up with information. As a matter of fact, Lenovo’s newest flagship smartphone had been exhibited at a mobile expo in China sometime in the middle of June.

Anyhow, here is the promised Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro Spec:

  • 6-inch QHD (2560×1440) IPS touchscreen

  • 16 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and optical image stabilization

  • 5 MP front shooter for selfies

  • 3GB of RAM

  • 32GB of internal storage space

  • powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 SoC with a 2.5 GHz quad-core CPU

  • dual-SIM support

  • 4G LTE

  • 4000 mAh battery

  • Phone dimension: 156 x 81.3 x 7.7 mm (83.5% screen)

  • runs Android 4.4 KitKat

What do you think? Is it worth all the attention it is getting right now? Two important details, pricing and availability, remain undisclosed however, which are expected to be revealed in the launching event this August 5.

Sony Xperia Z2 with Verizon logo spotted again

Just at the beginning of the month we saw Verizon-branded Sony’s Xperia Z2 posted on its Google+ page. However, the image was promptly deleted and Sony representatives said that a mock-up image was mistakenly posted.

Well, now again the Verizon-branded Sony Xperia Z2 was spotted on the Sony’s Korean microsite for the product. The backside of the handset clearly shows the Verizon logo and the 4G LTE symbol beneath it. Of course, Sony has removed the image this time round too, replacing it with a phone having the Sony logo on the backside of the device.

Recent leaks lead to a speculation that maybe Sony’s flagship Xperia X2 will be launched through Verizon. Last month we saw that FCC had approved the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet for Verizon. However, although the Xperia Z2 is Sony’s flagship smartphone, it has not yet been launched in the US. Sony had confirmed early in the month that the device would be launched in the US this summer and would be available only through its online store.

So why does Sony keep posting Verizon-branded Xperia Z2? First time it might be a mistake, but a second time too? Maybe the phone is really meant for Verizon, or maybe not. Maybe the company’s plans are delayed due to shortages or perhaps the company changed its mind about Verizon. Earlier, T-Mobile had Sony’s flagship Xperia phones exclusively. The company has not yet confirmed any US carriers for its Xperia Z2.

To refresh your memory, the Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Full HD Triluminous display, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 20.7 MP camera that can capture 4K video, 3200 mAh battery. The handset is waterproof and dust resistant and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
