Pictures of Meizu Blue Charm handsets’ back covers leaked

There have been numerous rumors and leaks from various sources about Meizu’s upcoming Blue Charm brand of devices. A few days back we heard that the Chinese manufacturer is planning to launch its new “Meizu Blue Charm” brand on 23 December in Beijing. The company will release several products under this brand name. One of them is a new 5.5” Blue Charm Note that will be unveiled on December 23 and another possible device is a 4.6” Meizu Blue Charm smartphone. The tag used by Meizu for the Blue Charm devices is “No Blue”.

Now some photos of the rear panels supposedly belonging to the two soon-to-be-announced Blue Charm devices have been leaked. One among them is a photo with several back covers having an opening for a camera lens at the center with a cut-out for dual flash below it. There’s the Meizu Logo and Tagline at the bottom. This appears to belong to the larger 5.5” Blue Charm Note and we can see 4 color variants- Silver, White and 2 shades of Gold. You can have a look here:

The other set of pics presumably belongs to the smaller 4.6” Blue Charm handset. It has more rounded corners and the camera/flash openings at the top left corner somewhat resembling the iPhone 5C. This device will be available in several bright colors including Green, Yellow, Blue, White and Red. You see them below:

There is a leaked picture of a power point presentation too. It shows that 2 devices will be released by Meizu in the first quarter of 2015 and their price tags will be 999 Yuan ($161) and 799 Yuan ($129) respectively.

Well, since nothing has been confirmed by the company yet, better to take the news with a pinch of salt. Anyways, we will know soon enough on December 23, when Meizu is supposed to announce them.

Meizu k52 spotted at GFXBench, has 64-bit MediaTek SoC with LTE support

It’s only been a couple of weeks since the release of Meizu MV4 Pro and already we are seeing another Meizu smartphone popping up in the database of GFXBench. There have been many rumors about a new 1000 Yuan Meizu phone (around US$162) in the works but there hasn’t been any official confirmation about it from the company. It is speculated that the new Meizu k52 getting benchmarked at the GFXBench might be that phone.

Meizu k52 -1

Specs of Meizu k52 indicate that it is powered by a MediaTek MT6752 64-bit octa-core SoC (Cortex A53 – ARMv7) clocked at 1.7GHz and an ARM Mali-T760 GPU. The SoC on board here is not as powerful as the MT6595 SoC of Meizu MX4, but it has 64-bit and provides faster LTE connectivity.

The handset sports a 4.6-inch (1920 x 1080 p) FHD display, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat. However, the GFXBench data is not the final one and there may be changes in the specs at a later stage. There is no information yet about the rear and front cameras this device is going to sport.

Meizu k52 -2

We have Two 3D graphics benchmarks as Manhattan and T-Rex tests have been performed for Meizu k52. The results of the tests are quite close to those of Oppo U3 but far below those of Meizu MX4 and Meizu MX4 Pro smartphones but this can be expected for a smartphone priced as low as 100 Yuan.

Meizu MX 4 Pro Photos Leaked Before Official Launch

Meizu MX 4 Pro is a product from one of the smart phone manufacturers in China. Even before the official release on 19 November, there are photos of the device showing the front panel and the back panel circulated online.  From the pictures, it gives away hints that the device will be having a “Galaxy Series Type” rectangular home button loaded with fingerprint scanner in it. Moreover, it looks like a smaller version of Android tablet with neither a camera present at the front panel of the device nor any cellular functionality.

From the release of this product, it is clear that the Chinese manufacturers have really upped the quality of this hardware.  The Meizu MX 4 Pro will have a screen size of 5.5-inch display and a resolution up to 2560 x 1536. It is technically the highest resolution smartphone display available but not by any significant amount.

The MX 4 Pro’s display boasts an impressive 546 PPI with acceptable maximum brightness of 450 nits and 2048 levels of brilliance control which probably means adjustable brightness. Another important point to note is that the NEGA LCD panel will only consume 5 percent more power than the original MX4’s smaller 1920 x 1152 LCD panel.

The device will be running on octo-core big.LITTLE Samsung SoC which contains of four Cortex-A15 and four Cortex-A7 CPU cores accompanied by Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. It will come with 3GB of RAM, NFC connectivity, LTE support and a 3350 mAh non-removable battery.

GFXBench Released Meizu MX4 Pro’s Processor Information with Octa-Core Exynos 5430

Meizu is going to release an updated MX4 Pro version soon. It is the next in line product after Meizu MX 4 which is released recently. Meizu MX 4 is overall a great product considering its price tag of $449. According to various leaks and pieces of intel, MX4 Pro is equipped with larger display of 5.5 inch of QHD type with 1536 x 2560 pixel resolution and 543 ppi.

On top of that, it will also come with fingerprint scanner embedded within a new physical home button as well as 3GB of RAM. The best part is that the device is running on octa-core Exynos 5430 processor chip which is the same chip inside Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

During the launch, the Exynos 5430 was the world’s first 20nm high-k metal gate (HKMG) chipset and the device runs on eight CPUs in total. Overall, it is four ARM Cortex-A15 and four efficient Cortex-A7 cores. Both groups are bundled together separately but able to work in unison due to the ARM big.LITTLE configuration. This configuration means that the brains of 5430 can decide whether to use each cluster separately or both of them together depending on the task at hand.

For the graphic, the device is running on hexa-core ARM Mali-T628 which unfortunately the chip lack performance compared to Snapdragon 801. The device will also confirmed with 20.7-megapixel Sony rear sensor with 4K UHD video capture, a 5-megapizel selfie snapper and also 16GB of internal storage.
