Layout Photo Collage app from Instagram now available on Android

Instagram had launched its Layout app for iOS in March this year and now, the Facebook-owned company has launched it for Android as well. The Layout app allows you to combine several photos into a single collage easily. You can save it in your smartphone and send it to your friends and family, and you can even share it on social networks like Facebook, Google+, Twitter or Instagram.

Layout from Instagram for Android can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store  in all phones running Android 4.1 OS and higher. Basic features of the app for Android are the same as in iOS.

When you open Layout and choose photos, it shows you previews of layouts depending on the number of photos selected by you. You can choose up to 9 photos at a time from your phone’s photo gallery. You can drag and drop, pinch and zoom or flip and rotate the photos to get the layout of your choice.

You can use the ‘Faces’ option to see all the photos in the gallery that have people in them. The Layout app shows you last 30 photos present in your ‘Recents’ tab. There is also the ‘Photo Booth’ feature by which the photos you capture with your smartphone’s camera can be instantly seen in a layout. You can use Instagram’s fillers and creative tools to give a great finishing to your photos.

You can download the Layout app and start using it. You don’t have to signup or have an account with Instagram for sharing the collages on whichever network you want.

Fuller Lips Postings by Teenagers are Trending in Instagram Now

Instagram is flooded by postings of artificial fuller lips by teenagers nowadays. These postings are made by teenagers and fans of Kylie Jenner who wants fuller lips like hers even though it is only for temporary. Kylie Jenner is the youngest daughter of Kris and Bruce Jenner, an American reality television personality, socialite and model. She is best known for her appearance in the E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”.

To get the fuller lips like Kylie’s, these teenagers suction their lips with shot glasses and post it on Instagram with hash tagged #KylieJennerChallenge with many of them boasting of bruises, bleeding and “lip hickeys”. It appears that it is more dangerous than the collagen injection.

Firstly, the participants place a shot glass or similar small cups around their lips and inhale for a few seconds to create the effect. After a few minutes, they get the plumper lips as a result.  After that they upload it and hash tagged it to share with other participants. The fuller lips effect will last for a short while whereas the side effect such as the bruise or “lip hickeys” will take longer time to subside. It seems like it is painful though.

Kylie Jenner has always claimed that her plump-up lips are the result of a makeup than plastic surgery.

Only 14% of teens name Facebook as the top social network

Facebook is currently the most popular social network the world over but if you ask the teens, they may say differently. A recent survey by Investment Bank Piper Jaffray finds that Facebook is losing its charm among the teens while Instagram and Snapchat are fast growing in popularity.

The survey titled “Taking Stock With Teens” in which 6,200 teens with average age of 16 were surveyed, has found that only 14% of the US teenagers regarded Facebook as the “most important social network.” This was 23% last year and 33% in 2013 indicating that Facebook is fast losing popularity among the US teenagers.

So which social network is regarded by the teens as the best? Well, the Facebook owned Instagram was chosen as the top social network by 32% of the teens while 24% chose Twitter. Facebook with 14% came at third place closely followed by Snapchat with 13%.

Piper Jaffray releases this survey twice a year and it is closely watched on Wall Street. Companies use the findings to get an idea about teens’ spending pattern and brand preferences while investors use them for making their stock buying decisions.

Survey results released by Pew Research Center tell a different story. Their survey found Facebook to still be the top choice of teenagers with 71% teens aged between 13 and 17 using it. 52% of them used Instagram and 41% used Snapchat.

Another would be the control on which filter to show or hide, using the Manage button, creating a more structured editing space.
