A recent rumor coming from the industry shows that the upcoming handset Samsung Galaxy A8 is likely to arrive in different markets of Asia and Europe. Samsung based website Sammobile has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy A8 is likely to have a finger-print sensor which will be in fact a touch-based fingerprint reader similar to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. This is a touch-based fingerprint sensor opposed to the swipe based one as seen in the Galaxy Alpha.
The source claims that the handset will also have the Themes feature with the TouchWiz UI which we recently saw in the Galaxy S6 series. This theme support is likely to arrive with other Galaxy handsets coming ahead this year.
Following the trend of the Galaxy A series handsets, the Galaxy A8 will have a all-metal build. The handset will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with four 1.7GHz ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, four 1GHz ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, and an Adreno 405 GPU. The device will have a 2GB of RAM memory and 16GB of internal storage along with a 3050mAh of battery life support. The handset is supposed to have a 5.7inch screen with Super AMOLED display and fullHD resolution. The device is rumored to have a thickness of 5.9mm. this could mean that it might be thinnest handset from the Samsung camp.
We are yet to hear an official word regarding this from Samsung.
