Google to launch 2 Nexus devices this year, a phablet by Huawei and a smartphone by LG

Google will apparently launch two new Nexus devices in 2015 – a phablet manufactured by Huawei and a smartphone made by LG. However, Google doesn’t seem to have any plan for releasing a new Nexus Tablet.

Several rumors have been floating around since the last few months regarding who will be manufacturing the next Nexus device for Google and most claimed that it would be a Chinese company. Some rumors suggested it would be Huawei, while others claimed it could be LG. One rumor did say that this year, Google will be releasing two Nexus devices and the two companies manufacturing them would be Huawei and LG. Well, it looks like this rumor may be true after all.

The Huawei-made Nexus device would be a 5.7” phablet codenamed ‘Angler’.  This will be a successor to the Nexus 6 but slightly smaller. According to reports, phablet Angler will have a Snapdragon 810 chipset and a 3500mAh battery.

The Nexus smartphone manufactured by LG will be a 5.2 inch affair codenamed ‘Bullhead’. Sources say that LG is planning the same hexa-core chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 which it has used in LG G4. The Bullhead will have a battery with capacity of around 2700mAh but it hasn’t been finalized yet. This will be the third Nexus device manufactured by LG for Google after Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.

Both the Nexus devices would be released by Google as usual around October this year. As far as Nexus tablets are concerned, it is said that Google will continue to sell Nexus 9 this year too as no new Nexus tablet seems to be in the works.
