Xperia Z2 is the official smartphone of the 2014 FIFA World Cup

The FIFA World Cup 2014 is about to kick off soon in Brazil and Sony Xperia Z2 has been declared as the official smartphone of the World Cup. Not surprising really because Sony is one of the biggest sponsors of the upcoming World Cup.

Sony has released a promotional video about Xperia Z2 being the official partner, with the tagline “Feel every detail wherever you are with the Sony Xperia Z2”. Sony has also launched the “Sony Football Challenge” ahead of the World Cup. Participants have to predict the scores correctly for all the 64 matches and can also challenge their friends via Facebook. After the World Cup is over, top 100 participants with the most accurate scores will be declared winners and their names will appear on the leaderboard of the Xperia Lounge app. Participants have to enter the contest through the Xperia Lounge app and through their Facebook account. The app also provides integration with Sony SmartWatch 2 and Sony SmartBand so that you can get regular updates while on the move.

Sony is offering big prizes for the winners including a VIP trip for two persons for the FIFA Club World Cup Final to be held in Morocco and lots of Sony products such as PlayStation 4, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z2, Sony SmartWatch 2 and much more. Interested in trying out your luck?

Sony Xperia Z2 launched in India with some special offers

Japanese manufacturer Sony has officially launched its flagship smartphone Sony Xperia Z2 in India on May 8. The smartphone carries the price tag of Rs. 49,990 . However, those buying the Sony Xperia Z2 from the company’s website will be entitled to a few special offers and exclusive apps.

Sony is offering its new SmartBand SWR10 free with the Xperia Z2 for a limited period of time.  The SmartBand is a wrist band that will help you to log all the activities done during the day. Its Lifelog android app will allow you to track and display your entertainment, social, online and physical activities. It will alert you when a call comes or it can control the music you are listening. The SmartBand is waterproof and costs Rs. 5,990 (around $100) which is quite a good bargain.

Another free goody offered with Sony Xperia Z2 is the Sony Premium Case. It is an ultra-thin leather flip case designed to protect your phone from scratches. The case can also be used as a stand to keep the phone while watching movies. The flip case costs Rs. 2,990 (around $50). Sony is also offering ‘Accidental Damage Cover’ for 6 months for any damage causes to the phone accidentally.

Other freebies available with the purchase of Sony Xperia Z2 are approximately $350 in value and include free Michael Jackson album XSCAPE, 6 free movies including Captain Phillips, 50 HGB Box for online storage, 3 months Evernote premium, 8 games from PlayStation Mobile and much more.
