Few images of the alleged LG G4 has appeared in Iran which showed the premium handset with plastic back and leather back models. An icon at the screen bottom in one of the images show that the handset supports dual SIM and it seems that the variant would be available in Iran. The LG G4 is expected to be unveiled on the 28^th of April at a special event in New York.

The upcoming LG G4 is tipped to be having a 5.5-inch screen with a QHD 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 534ppi. The machine power will be the 64-bit Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexa-core CPU supported with an Adreno 418 GPU for graphics handling. The handset would be having a 3GB of RAM memory along with a microSD card slot for the expandable memory. The back side would be hosting a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and the front would be having a 8MP secondary camera. The device would be running the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop on-board having a battery capacity of 3000mAh.

Moreover, there also have been rumors circulating about the LG G4 Note a more powerful version of the LG G4 coming ahead this year to pitch an competition against the Galaxy Note 4. The LG G4 Note is said to come with a 4GB of RAM memory, a Snapdragon 810 chipset and the G Pen support. This handset is expected to be unveiled in the second half of this year.

There is a major leak coming from the hometown of LG – South Korea. The LG G4 handset has been leaked with multiple images. Some of the images shows the premium clad to be dressed in leather back cover and a image hints at the invitation sent out for the 28^th of April. Additionally to the images, the specs for the handset have also leaked.

The leak coming from South Korea shows the LG G4 to be having a 5.5-inch “Quantum” display with a QHD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It also gives the camera information which is the 13MP primary camera to its back with a f/1.8 aperture. Now this could probably go against the previous rumors which shows the handset to be coming with a 16MP camera and a f/1.8 aperture. Another strange thing which the leak shows is the Android 4.4.2 KitKat coming pre-installed instead of the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Moreover, GeekBench3 has recently confirmed that the device would be having a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset under the hood and the front side would be hosting a 8MP secondary camera. A leaked image shows that the handset would be powered  with a powerful 3000mAh of battery life.

LG G4 to have a fingerprint scanner: Rumors

After the two major companies Samsung and HTC announcing their flagship handsets at the MWC 2015, everyone’s eyes are now upon the much rumored LG G4 handset. Recent reports coming from the tech industry show that LG too would enter the biometric race as its upcoming handset the LG G4 is rumored to be coming with a fingerprint sensor on-board. The source from the home-town has been tipped saying:

“LG Electronics has recently decided to deploy a fingerprint sensor on its next flagship smartphone and the scanner will be placed at the back of the device.”The company “has been left behind in the race for fintech (portmanteau of finance and technology) as it has continued to postpone the adoption of fingerprint technology.”

Last time in the LG G3 the company has incorporated an additional Knock Code layer security but now giants like Apple and Samsung are coming with their own unique payments methods via biometric sensors. This means that LG will have to think something really out-of-the-box for its next flagship.

LG has always brought up something special to its G series flagship handset. Unarguably the LG G2 and the LG G3 were one of the best smartphones of their generation which then hosted some very new and novel features. Just with the starting of 2015, everyone is talking about the next expected flagship from the company the LG G4.

The upcoming LG G4 is expected to be powered with the much talked after 64bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. However, reportedly there have been issues with heating of the chipset due to which many smartphone manufacturers have started to consider other options in place. Moreover, the much talked after Samsung Galaxy S6 that earlier has a strong decision for Snapdragon 810 chipset, had to consider for their Exynos chipsets for 90% of its initial production. LG too has got its own NUCLUN line of processors but have failed to deliver on performance aspects.

In addition to this, the handset is said to feature the same 3GB of RAM memory with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop on-board and a pixel resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels. The handset will witness a considerable jump in its camera from 13MP to 16MP with wide resolution.

Based on the availability of Snapdragon 810, we can expect the device to it markets at MWC next month or later but no sooner.
