Huawei’s Honor smartglasses to bring military grade technology

Earlier this year in March, we told you about Lumus a military contractor who is famous for its F-16 helmet heads-up displays, has created a military grade eyewear. At that time Lumus had shown two development kits, the monocular DK-40 and the binocular DK-32. This all information is just to tell you that Chinese telecom giant Huwaei is one of the leading companies to adopt the Lumus’ F-16 technology as according to reports from Weibo, the company itself is planning to release its own smartglasses in the market. Huawei’s take on smart-headwear resembles to the monocular DK-40 which lets us think that the company has adopted the military grade eye-wear kit. Huawei is going to offer its device with the famous “Honor” tag that it uses for its entry-level and mid-range smartphones.

The monocular Lumus DK-40 uses an Optical Engine Module that consists of Micro-Display Pod and a Light-guide Optical Element. This technology uses the same technology as it has been incorporated in the HUD displays of F-16 fighters. The DK-40 development kit puts a 720p display at the front. The Honor smartglasses from Huawei are likely to have a 5MP camera and would be running the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat on-board.
