Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch and 9.7-inch Launching Next Month

Samsung has officially showcased two new tablets, Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. There are more similarities between the two models than the differences. The differences fall on the display screen of the tablets, the battery size as well as the weight of the devices among other differences. Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will come with an 8.0 inch display size while Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is coming with a 9.7-inch display size. For the battery size, Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 is equipped with a 4000mAh while Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is equipped with a 5870mAh. Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will be weighed at 265g while Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 will be weighed at 389g.

As for the similarities, both tablets are equipped with a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1536 x 2018, a 8MP rear camera with a 2.1MP front camera and pre-installed with Android 5.0. On top of that, both of the tablets will come with home button which integrated with fingerprint scanner, multitasking feature which enable users to open two apps at the same time as well as pop-up windows which give users the ability to switch between apps in a faster way. Both models will also be running on an octa-core CPU with four cores running at 1.9GHz and four cores running at 1.3GHz as well as 3GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB internal storage. There is also a microSD slot which can support up to 128GB additional storage.

It seems that Samsung is all gearing up for its this year Galaxy Tablets with 4:3 ratio displays. The reports from the industry show that the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 next month in June as a successor to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from last year.

Earlier this week, a render was released which allegedly showed up the front view of the Galaxy Tab S 9.7. Now one more render of the tablet is out that shows the rear part of the tablet. The renders below show the tablet to be a very thin device which is supposed to be made from metal and measures 237.17 x 169.58 x 5.5 mm. this means that it is even slimmer than the iPad Air 2.

Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Tab A series, the Galaxy S2 line of tablets are said to cater to the high-end range having 2048 x 1536 pixels of AMOLED screen. The tablets are said to be powered with octa-core 64-bit Exynos 7420 chipsets found in the recently launched Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. At the time of launch, both the tablets would be running the Android 5.0 Lollipop version.

Earlier this week, we told you about Korean tech giant Samsung planning for Apple iPad Air 2 competitor or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. The second generation of the Galaxy Tab S is almost set to come with Super AMOLED display and we have few of its specs getting leaked out there. The Samsung Galaxy S2 will come in two different screen size variants of 8.0/9.7 inch and according to an insider, they are said to be even thinner than the Apple ipad Air 2 that measures 6.1mm. Both these Samsung tablets are said to have 4:3 aspect ratio with pixel resolution of 2048×2536 pixels.

The other major change we could see it that Samsung probably would be using its home baked Exynos 5433 chipset or the Exynos 7420 one with a 64-bit architecture. The device would be running Android 5.0 Lollipop skinned with TouchWiz 64-bit interface. The connectivity option would include a Cat 6 LTE modem offering download speeds of 300Mbps. The devices would be having 3GB of RAM memory with 32GB of internal expandable storage along with the 8MP primary camera shooters to its back. The smaller of the two tablets is supposed to host a 3,580mAh battery while the larger would have a 5,870mAh of battery life.

Apple iPad Air 2 competitor Galaxy Tab S2 with metal frame might be coming soon

The Apple iPad Air 2 is currently the slimmest tablet on the planet with just 6.1mm of thickness and shares this specialty with the Dell Venue 8. Tech website SamMobile has recently reported that Korean giant Samsung is planning to come with even slimmer tablet probably the Galaxy Tab S2.

In addition to bring a noticeable change in the thickness dimensions of the device, the company is also planning to change the display size to 8.0inch and 9.7 inch putting up a straight competition to iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2. Additionally, the source has also claimed that the tablet would come with a metal frame for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2.
