Samsung handsets
Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are the two latest flagship smartphones that Samsung has recently released. Four famous countries—Russia, Brazil, United Kingdom and United States of America—have awarded eco-friendly certificates to these two smartphones.
US certification
Safety testing and certification organization UL (Underwriters Laboratories) in United States awarded the highest Sustainability Product Certification (SPC) to both Galaxy S6 and S6 edge handsets. Samsung claims that the devices were recognized for meeting a series of rigorous criteria on various factors like recyclability of product and packaging, toxic material, social responsibility practices of the manufacturer and energy efficiency.
UK and other certifications
Carbon Trust in United Kingdom awarded the “CO2 Measured Label” to both handsets. In the case of Russia and Brazil, Vitality Leaf certifications were awarded to the devices.
Recyclability
The retail packages of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge are made of 100 recycled papers, and soy ink is used for the purpose of printing. Moreover, recycled plastic is used in their battery chargers which constitutes about 20% of the plastic used in battery chargers.
Releasing date
From April 10, both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be released in the market of USA and some other zones. Many mobile phone experts gave excellent reviews to both handsets, and many customers in United States gave pre-order weeks before the date of their release.
