Specs of upcoming Samsung Galaxy J1 leaked, to be a 4G, 64bit low-end phone

It seems like Samsung is going to introduce a new smartphone line – the Galaxy J line. The Galaxy A series has already been introduced and the Galaxy E series is waiting to be announced soon. We now hear that a new Samsung Galaxy phone, the Galaxy J1 (SM-J100), the first in the Galaxy J series, has been spotted on the internet. It is also obvious that Samsung is now using simple nomenclature for naming its devices.

Looking to the specs, the Galaxy J1 looks like a budget phone. Its specifications include 4.3-inch WVGA (480 x 800p) TFT LCD touchscreen, a 64-bit quad-core (Marvell PXDA1908) CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, 4GB of internal storage and a 1,850mAh capacity battery. The handset will have 4G LTE support and run Android 4.4 KitKat unlike the Galaxy E series of devices which will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed.

Dimensions of the upcoming Galaxy J1 smartphone are 129 x 68 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 123g. These specs obviously point to a low-end offering by Samsung. According to the source, the Galaxy J series may be similar to the Galaxy Y implying that although the handset may be priced less, its specs would be quite decent.

There is no indication when Samsung will announce the Galaxy J1 and in view of the fact that the company is working on so many new devices, we really can’t say which one will surface first. Anyways, we’ll keep you posted.
