Photo supposed to be that of Samsung Galaxy S6 Prototype leaks out online, is it real?

A picture supposed to be that of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Prototype has been leaked online by a Dutch website toptienmobiel. However, a French website NowhereElse has been quick to debunk it. According to them, the photo alleged to be that of a Samsung Galaxy S6 is a fake, saying it is a poor photo montage made from Galaxy Alpha picture.

Here’s the pic of the alleged Galaxy S6 Prototype:

The Galaxy S6 phone in the picture has very thin bezels and the front-facing camera has been shifted to the top center. The edges are made of metal like the Samsung Galaxy Alpha but we can’t say whether the back is also metallic. The design of the Galaxy S6 seen in the picture looks somewhat like Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus for instance its curved edges are similar. The source has not revealed details about its specs. The Galaxy S6 handset is supposed to cost around €679 or about US$850.

An Tu Tu benchmark reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 × 2560 pixels. The device will have two versions, one powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 and the other by Snapdragon 810 chipset. It will have a 20MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing one. The memory options include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to launch at the Mobile World Congress in March 2015 and will hit the shelves in April.
