After Xiaomi, its OnePlus One getting a ban in India

Well, it is just a matter of 15 days after Chinese manufacturer OnePlus launched its much famous OnePlus One handset in India. However, the company has to receive it first setback as it has been banned for selling and further handsets due to the CyanogenMod row that it faces with its Indian counterpart Micromax.

Cyanogen is the exclusive partner of Micromax in Indian and following this there was a patent infringement as Micromax didn’t support the Cyanogen logo at the back of OnePlus and forwarded its disapproval to the Delhi High Court. After proper investigation of the patents, the court announced OnePlus a ban from selling its flagship handset any further.

Micromac claims that OnePlus “incurred major expenses for creation of a brand exclusivity for providing to Indian customers mobile phones with Cyanogen operating systems”, which will make it “suffer irreparable harm and loss if the defendants (OnePlus) are permitted to continue with their illegal acts”.

Few days back another Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi which in absolutely no time gained tremendous popularity in India, has also been issued for suspending its sales following a patent infringement row with Ericsson relating to 3G, EDGE and AMR. You can get the complete details of this story here.

Well, Micromax has now officially unveiled its first handset of the Yu brand under which the company has vowed to sell CyanogenMod powered handsets and the Micromax Yureka is now official. The device comes with LTE connectivity and is powered with CyanogenMod 11 and offers some very good specs at a very reasonable price. Get the complete details of this new handset here.
