Windows Phone based HTC One M8 with Duo Camera goes official

HTC’s this year premium flagship One M8 launched back in March on Android platform has been now re-launched again by the company but on Windows platform. The Windows based HTC One M8 is currently Verizon exclusive and is available online as well as in stores.

Looking straight away to its specs, the HTC One M8 hosts a 5” display with 1080p screen resolution covered in an aluminum unibody. The front side of the handset hosts the company’s BoomSound speakers. The device is powered with the latest Snapdragon 801 chipset which makes it the fastest WP 8.1 device right now in the market. The memory options for the device include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expandable memory. Just like the original version, the Windows based HTC One M8 comes with Duo Camera one of which is a 4MP UltraPixel camera with an additional camera for depth measurement and special effects. The main camera hosts HDR mode and is capable of recording 1080p videos. The front of the handset hosts a 5MP secondary camera.

The HTC One (M8) for Windows is available from noon today at a “promotional” price of $100. We put that in quotes since this is how much a Verizon One (M8) with Android goes for right now. You could also get it for $30 a month on the Verizon Edge program.

Being Winows based, the phone has the most happening Cortana Digital assistant along with a trademark One feature, BlinkFeed. The connectivity options for the device include NFC, microUSB, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band Wi-Fi with Miracast. With the Microsoft Project My Screen the phone screen can be mirrored on a Windows PC and can be operated from there.

The handset will be available with the famous Dot View cases for showing notifications.
