The Google I/O conference was attended by developers interested in developing for google’s various platforms. Google made announcements about the Android L and Android Wear operating systems. At the time the Moto 360 was not released yet. The people who chose either the Gear Live or the G Watch got their presents on the same day, but others had to wait until the first batch was produced.

Now the time has finally arrived because Google has started contacting the people who chose Moto 360 for their shipping addresses. The deadline for replying is September 5th 2014. This means that the Moto 360 will probably ship after September 5th.

From what we have seen so far, smartwatches seem to allow the user to see notifications. They have a bettery life of about 1-2 days and most of them might not be as thin as some people want them to be. Smartwatches like the Moto 360 need a smartphone paired with them in order to show notifications. Although the Android wear operating system has its own app store and apps developed specifically for these smartwatches are expected to be very promising indeed.

It is expected that the Moto 360 will be shown at Motorola’s press event on September 4th 2014. With Google shipping it near the same date, the 360 is sure to arrive soon to the attendies of Google I/O and very soon to the mass consumer market as well.

Here’s a hands-on preview of the Moto 360 in action:
