Samsung Removed microSD slot and Removable Battery Concept from Galaxy S6

Samsung sales have been declining during the past few years. There are a few factors which could lead to this. One of them might be because there are a lot of smartphones in the market which are running on the same operating system as Samsung, Android, and lower in cost but offers almost the same kind of user experience as Samsung. This might hurts Samsung’s sales from the lower-end level. As from the higher-end level, Apple, Samsung’s competitor, has come out with a lot of interesting new features and products such as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.

Another factor which can be considered is that there is not many changes on Samsung’s smartphone design or feature which makes the consumers want to buy it. Therefore, for the newly released product, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung decided to remove microSD slot and the removable battery concept from it. Samsung Galaxy S6 users cannot open the back cover of the device.

Apart from the outer appearance, Samsung also do some changes on the inner components of the product. Galaxy S6 operates on 64-bit eight-core in-house processor, a QHD display with nearly two times the pixels per inch of the new iPhone, quick charging feature as well as 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

On top of that, there are some rumors that Samsung is working on Galaxy S6 Active which has a similar feature as Galaxy S6 but with some additional feature such as waterproofing, microSD and a removable battery. Since there are a lot of variants, hopefully, there is one variant that can fit into each customer’s definition of a smartphone.
