Introducing Periscope – Twitter’s Own Live Video Broadcasting, Similar to Meerkat

Twitter has just bought Periscope a few weeks ago. Similar to Meerkat, Periscope is also a live video streaming app which allows the users to stream live video from your iPhone virtually regardless the physical location. On top of that, users are able to sign in to Periscope using your Twitter account.  Unfortunately, Periscope uses internet connection. By using the apps, users are able to track viewers, comments and even click on the “heart” icon if they like the video.

It is very easy to use Periscope. Periscope uses swipes and gestures to navigate throughout the screen and uses its features. It gives a more polished feel compared to Meerkat. On top of that, it is also easy to setup Periscope. After installation, there is a brief tutorial on how to use the apps then you will have the options to follow “Featured” users such as the magician David Blaine or Periscope engineers or the people that you have followed in your Twitter account.

The next screen will show the lists of current live broadcast with large, full-width images. During the live broadcast, the users will be able to comment and the broadcaster will be able to see the comments real-time. On top of that, the broadcaster can select the people icon to see all the viewers. The good thing is that no one can watch anonymously within the app itself.

These are a few of things that you can do on Periscope apps. It is available for free in Apps Store.
